Default UD Chasing Amy coming

Was watching Go GTS last night and they showed that UD is going to continue the Kevin Smith contract and release a set based on Chasing Amy.

If they are going to go back and revisit the old movies like they did with Clerks and now this I might go broke. This is one of my faves

Dang, that's pretty cool and kind of shocking. I'd think that Mallrats would have a bigger card following. I hope they get to that set, at least!

Sweet. A card set of one of my favorite films without Affleck, Lee, and Lauren-Adams autos. Looking forward to it.

Lauren Adams has signed for Leaf, and does conventions. I would imagine she will be in this set

Lee and Affleck, yeah, my hopes are not high

Something tells me they will have Ben Affleck autographs in this. They've been doing a lot better at getting the above the title names for their sets. I think this could be a set Ben wouldn't mind being involved with. He did it with his good friend. It's a movie and a role people like him in. It's a movie that isn't seen as a blemish on his career. I dunno. I think unless he wants ridiculous money, he could end up in this with a limited amount of autographs.

Hopefully there will be Chinese Finger Cuffs parallel to match Clerks 37 parallel.

He needs the money? Um, what? He's one of the biggest stars, both in front of and behind the camera, in Hollywood.

Yeah, he probably does need the money. He gambled and drank like crazy, just came out of rehab, and is going through a divorce or seperation or whatever they want to call it. So yeah, I bet he needs the money. And I don't think he has worked for multiple months, has a Playboy bunny girlfriend and probably didn't do a lot of saving. So yeah, he needs the money. Why else would he be signing for at least leaf? He also did a bunch of private sign ins earlier last year.

Clerks was a dog of a set, yet the movie reached cult status.

Chasing Amy was not nearly the movie, and it's going to get a set?

Straight to Epack I'd hope.

Because it is an easy way to do 1000 autographs for chump change, same reason Presidents, Celebrities, Athletes, and more do it that are worth just as much and more than Affleck.

His wife has enjoyed a nice career in Hollywood, so the divorce would not have cost him that much. Hers got added to his, as did her real estate holdings, which were vast as thats what she invested in, so the split would not have killed him. Their combined net worth was over $190 million. His ex-gf would not have cost him that much as he was in rehab during a lot of their time together (paid by the studios fyi) and now she is gone. She did however get to up her brand from being with him. He has 3 films in Post-Production and Produced on one of them and a TV Show.

LeBron has money and he still signs, Presidents have done signings, Harrison Ford, etc etc.

Your reasoning is severely lacking here and has no evidence.

My thoughts exactly. I thought Clerks bombed HARD! I bought just a little bit and wasn't a fan of the card set enough to spend any more. Seems like an odd decision unless they've found a way to do it on the cheap.

I'm not sure how the Clerks sets could've been better. On-card autographs (including doubles and triples) from pretty much everyone in it, sketch cards, and even the ubiquitous manufactured relics that found their way into the set were very creative.

That said, the next set should be a catch-all that includes cards from MallRats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, and Jay & Bob Strike Back.
If that does well, they can then try a "Clerks II".

Chasing Amy is a much better film than Smith's others. This would be the set I would hope for.

I don't know if Smith has the rights for Mallrats. He has put out other Mallrats items though. Some of his films were done with different studios, so the rights might not be as easy to get.

Exactly. What was possibly missing from a Clerks set that anyone thinks should have been in there? I built an auto set and a few sketches. Also going to eventually send home the patches I have sitting on COMC/Epack.

The set was well done. The rainbow parallels were beautiful.
