Default 2003 Exquisite Lebron James Limited Logos vs 2009 NT Stephen Curry RPA/99

Would you trade a BGS 9 2003 Exquisite Collection Lebron James Limited Logos 3-color patch (red patch with gold trim on a white jersey) for a BGS 9.5 2009 National Treasures Stephen Curry RPA /99 3-color patch (gold patch with red trimming on a navy blue jersey)?

On one hand you have a rookie year high-end patch auto of the best and by far the most influential player since MJ, which also happens to be of the inaugural release of the most iconic high end set in modern sports collecting history. On the other hand you have the most iconic card of the most influential player of this generation after Lebron, who will go down as the greatest shooter in history. The curry rpa is also of the inaugural release of the NT RPA and is the most important panini RPA. Both cards are very solid to own, but if you’re going with one card to hold on to up until these players are done with basketball, I’m going with the 03-04 Lebron logos. Any high end 03-04 LeBron patch autos are gonna be almost impossible to find as the years go on, especially with the true rpa /99 reaching a level of its own in the collecting world and thus increasing demand for his other high end rookie year stuff especially exquisite.

One other item of note that may gain importance (or not) is that the Limited Logo 03-04 Lebron is GAME USED, not event worn. Upper deck pointed that out, the Exquisite RPA/99 is actually from a photo shoot...the Limited Logos are Game worn. Just fyi. The Curry is of course "Event worn"...

The LeBron patch is from a game-used jersey so if all things being equal, I would choose that, but all things aren't equal and I'd personally rather have the Curry because I'm a bigger fan of his. Of course, if I could afford one of these cards, I could likely afford both and I'd get both.

Looking for rare Jameis Winston rookies (Prizm White Sparkle, Gold Vinyl, etc), 1/1's and jersey #'d stuff.

Sell the the LeBron buy a Curry and have some cash left over. Doesn't sound like an even trade even thought they're both great players.

i'll add another vote for the LBJ, but it's pretty remarkable how close the two cards currently are in value. there are other 'marquee' high end LBJ rookie autos, but Steph's NT RPA is a collector's only option.

hell, maybe i'd take the Curry...

Um, not an exact comparison, but wouldn't this kind of be like comparing MJ and Reggie Miller? Curry's game is of course more revolutionary compared to Reggie, but you are talking about someone who is in a heated discussion as GOAT.
Vote Lebron.

I'd take the Lebron. As great as Curry is I don't think his legacy is going to be as enduring or near the same level.

I'm bias...I'll go w/Curry. I like Lebron but as a sport that requires team effort and a dubs fan, I'll have to go with Curry.

Curry seems to change the game of basketball. Lebron is just another GREAT player but doesn't have a skill set like Curry that people can match. Shooting long range vs. Driving down the middle, compare those skill sets and judge what the majority of basketball players can do better at. People said Trae Young can, but hasn't. Now the next player to play like Lebron would be Zion.

I like Curry.... I love Curry. It's Curry's best rookie.

But I'd take the Lebron.

Imagine what Curry could do with LeBron’s body.

Could LeBron do the same thing in Curry’s body?

Anyway, I’m a biased Dubs fan so I’d be torn between the two. One is contending (albeit, he won’t overtake MJ) for GOAT and one is the best shooter in the history of the game. Although LJ will have the greater NBA legacy, Curry will always have a special place in my heart...enough to make this decision a tough one.

Since I look at cards as investments too, I’d probably go with LJ.

If Curry had LeBron's body, he never would have developed his game the way he has. Pretty sure he is the way he is because he had to figure out what style of play would work best for his body type.

Touché. Although we’ll never truly know (so we can’t automatically disregard the possibility), what you say is a very good point (and very likely hahaha).

Curry. The Lebron LL is second tier to the RPA /99 in the '03 Exquisite. Steph Curry is absolutely the most popular player in the world right now and will continue to be so. Once in a generation player and his NT RPA /99 will only be outvalued by the Lebron RPA. Every kid born in this generation wants to be Steph Curry, and in 20 years when they can buy expensive cards they will want his best RC, not a Lebron subset card.
