So... no autos and only 2 sketches per case?

This better be very cheap or it’s going to bomb i think

I am going to have to agree with Cats.... this may need to be a budget title to do well.

When I saw the title, my first thought was that they will use Brolin Infinity War stickers for an auto in this set.

The good thing about not having autos in this set is you wont hear:
"If they don't get Ryan Reynolds to sign, this set is going to fail"

...oh crap, I just said it.

yeah this isn't a movie set, but a comics set so the reason of lack of autos, but very few hits otherwise, could be fun at $30 a box, but not at $70 or more

I would be all over this at $30 a box. A budget set like that would be great. But I would assume it would just not be worth it for Upper Deck to do as the profit margin would be small to no existent after licensing fees and production costs.

My guess is it starts out with an SRP of around $79 per box, but can be had 6 months later on sale for $45 per box.

I got so excited when I read the threads title, imaging a card set covering both Deadpool 1 & 2, the autos and characters from the movies. A little disappointing.

That set would be insane and I was disappointed as well.

As a big deadpool comics fan I would have been all over this, even without autos, if it was one sketch per box, but 2 per case is way to low. No way I am touching this other than grabbing cheap stuff off ebay.

I’m actually excited for this set. New Mutants #98 comic cuts will be fun. I was wondering why none were in FUXM and this explains it. It would have been cool if they did more cuts from other Deadpool issues too, but I will take what I can get. This set will do well in ePack. Assuming the price point is around the Captain America level ($6-7 a pack).

Ha, that is an awesome parody set. It would be great if it came with the original as the parody would be lost on most people buying this.

I don't even remember Canseco on the Rangers. Just his Bash Brothers days in Oakland.

One of his most famous moments (home run off his head) was with the Rangers.

I feel the same way most of you do about this set.
Got excited when I read the title, only to have the rug pulled from out underneath me!

Looks like pre-order pricing for consumers is $68/box or $800 for 12-box case.

Nice to see it at a cheap price point. It will do well on ePack.

I like the look of the Deadpool-bombing cards which feature Deadpool on top of cards from other releases. I wonder how broad this subset will be?

Agreed. This set is perfect for Epack. Collect what you want and trade the rest. I'll chase the bombing inserts for FUXM and treat them as an alternate card of the FUXM set.

I did this as well with the 94 FUXM throwback card stock design for marvel retro. I put those cards with my actual 94 x-men set and it looks pretty cool all organized together.

I’m of course excited for this set but my question is, what is the most cost efficient way to get a master set? Should I buy a case and build off that or just wait until someone builds the set and lists it for sale? Should I just wait of ePacks? I’ve never purchased ePacks and am still not 100% on how it works.

Cost? Buy it second hand.

But me personally, I don't buy prebuilt sets. The fun for me is putting the sets together.

Depending on ePack configuration, I’d probably buy a couple boxes of physical and then the rest on ePack. For Marvel Annual sets, the standard base cards only appeared in hobby boxes. EPack had virtual base cads that could be combined (x10, x100) to make physical color parallels that were ePack exclusive.

Also be aware that shipping off of ePack is super expensive to move large sets because there is a charge for each card. The huge benefit of ePack is the ability to trade cards you don’t want for cards you do want. Also there are exclusive cards to ePack. In addition to color parallels, there are also various achievement cards created for completing subsets and groups of subsets.

The most cost efficient way is to just buy it off ebay. That is also the least fun in my opinion. Until a checklist comes out with odds it is hard to say how close to a master set a case will get you.

Yeah, have to agree. Love opening packs but sometimes (too many times, it seems now) it just doesn't make sense depending on what you want from a set.

Also, since I don't see the CC link anywhere, here it is for those interested:

After reviewing the set checklist on CC I am worried for my wallet. The patch subset has a few 1:1800 /pack cards and the New Mutant 98 cards are all /10.
