Default Why so little love for Blake Snell?

What more can this kid do? Both in card sales (some autos sell for $1-$2 still) and in general sports hype? He's still young and is dominate... Just seems odd. Is it simply a case of Tampa Bay, nobody really cares?

Yes, he's a pitcher in Tampa Bay. If he wins a couple of Cy Youngs that will change, but combine his market with the growing lack of desire to invest in young pitchers, and that's pretty much it.

his heritage autos go about $50blue/$200+Red , they were $6-$10blue $30-$40 Red 9 months ago
his Topps Chrome Rc autos were $2 , now $10-15
not gonna buy you a car but the % increase is there

I mean he's a pitcher on the Rays who kinda sucked for awhile after call-up and has autos in billions of products, what did we expect?

His 2011 Chrome raw autos are going for nearly $60. They were $25 in the beginning of August. People have taken notice and the prices reflect it.

But he does have a ton of RC label autos and post RC autos. I sold a 17 Topps Finest Green Auto /99 of his last week for $10.

Even on the Yankees there wouldn't be much interest. The hobby won't give a hoot for real until he has 5 dominant years consecutively and a couple Cy Youngs close to each other.

I’ve tried to sell a blue heritage auto twice and both times the auction winner never paid. I hope he wins the cy young as this will push his RC heritage autos over $100 I am guessing. If he can stay healthy his values will rise.

It is a very 1980's teen movie villain-sounding name, to be sure, but he shouldn't be penalized for that.

He should be penalized for all those mean things he said to Molly Ringwald.

Hardly. Did you happen to see Severino's price bump earlier this year around the All-Star break? $125+ raw chromes. If Snell were on the Yankees, his Chromes would be at least double in value right now.

He plays for the Rays and he's over 20 years old.

Look at his 1st Chrome auto prices from June to now. Looks like most people don't care that he plays for the Rays

To be fair, there are BC autos of guys who have never sniffed an inning in the majors selling for more. If Snell racks up a few years like this he could get more love. It’s taken Nola and deGrom a few years. The problem is the guys like Kershaw, Scherzer, etc have Set a high standard. I think Sale and Kluber stuff is soft too. Pitchers are just tough unless they rack up huge stats and awards.
But even still, remember Bret Saberhagen, Frank Viola, Brandon Webb, Tim Lincecum and Cliff Lee - 7 Cy Young’s between them and you could buy all of their RCs for under $10 all together. One year doesn’t make a pitcher great.
