Default Your thoughts in John Collins??

Do you think he’s going to be a superstar, star or just another average player?

Above average player but average hobby value. He’s a big man and plays in atlanta, those are tough variables to overcome

I mean realistically, will he even be better than a guy like Milsap (who is/was a multifaceted beast)?

I just don't see anything really special about the guy besides his powerful dunks. I'm thinking Thadeus Young type of career. I could be way off.

I was thinking a more athletic version of milsap. It was only summer league but it looked like he has developed 3 point range. While Trae young will struggle to shoot, his passing will be his bread and butter. I can see him getting Collins a lot of easy buckets as well. I see a lot of improvement for Collins this next season but where that will ultimately take him? Who knows. My more athletic milsap ceiling for him could be end up being wrong.

Definitely could be. Milsap's stats on paper aren't mind blowing, but he contributes in every column and has inside outside range. Which I believe Collins has as well. The new crop of talent over there might actually make me watch Hawks games this season lol.

I was actually thinking about that (watching the hawks) the other day and I'll probably check out a few games this year as I'm curious to see their young players too. Never thought I'd say that in a long time.

Been a pretty miserable squad to sit thru if you're a DFS player. Glad management at least went with drafting players that offer some sort of excitement even if the squad remains down in the gutter.

Average player. Fun to watch. Not a lot of hobby value.

Kind of reminds me of a poor man's Blake Griffin; will definitely turn heads with dunks this season but not a superstar. Definite short-term hold.

He's a guy I would unload during the preseason hype for sure. Nice player but think the expectations are starting to get a little too high for him.

You guys are scaring me. Collins is one of my bigger sleeper investments. I think statistically he is up there with top rookies. I hope into 2019 I am proven right. <Sigh...mumbling...”hope I’m right “...>

Somebody has to score points on a bad team. Just depends whether there is enough hype on a player to make people care.

He's going to be a much better real life basketball player than a hobby value guy.

If he produces at a high level this year there is definitely money to be made on him. Long term? Idk. But, there is some hype with him, and where there is hype, card values can always rise. I think he's one of the safer investments if you are looking at short term flipping. I don't see any reason why his silvers couldn't get up in the $50-$60 range with how the hobby is today, grasping at any hope of a breakout career.

IMO, good real life and fantasy player but nothing special in the hobby world. He's athletic? Saw some BGriff and JSmoove comparisons.

Should put up decent low double-double numbers this year. Definitely a highlight reel-type of player which will help prices but don't see the long term value in him.
