Default Cleveland 2018 Nationals, grades, trades, sells, pickups, etc (NFS).

First off.. great Nationals! Nice seeing a lot of new faces and many familiar ones from past shows.. and then finally putting those faces next to blowout user id's.. actually makes dealing a lot easier. Anyways.. day one! Here are some of my grading results. It was the first thing I did and both lines took forever! Spent about $200 @ BGS and $350 @ PSA. For the most part I care less about the grade, more about just getting them authentic/encased since most will remain in my collection anyways.

This next one I already posted on another thread but it's worth mentioning again just because it's one of the reasons I went to the Nationals.. to grade on-site! Means too much to me personally and just can't be replaced if it got lost in the mail. Politics aside.. this guy lets it be known that he is a huge hoops fan! While I was there I got a good deal on the letters to go with it =].

Now for the cards I sold or traded away (^_^)/~ Bye-bye Jaylen Brown NT RPA /99, Vince Carter SPA 10, James Harden and Steph Curry RC Penpals Auto /50, MJ Porcelain UDA Auto, Tatum and Mitchell Silver (and others).. really did not want to part with any of those! For the next couple of months (or years) I will pretty much try to buy back or replace what I sold (LoL.. an ongoing cycle). The good part though.. new additions! A few more not shown below are currently at the BGS offices waiting to get slabbed.. will update again when they arrive.

My last big purchase on Sunday was UD Monumental for $1k ($1080 total w/ taxes). Not great. Big hit was a Jameis Winston Helmet Inscribed /15. Also got a Patrick Roy Puck, Gary Player, Kevin Love, and Allen Robinson Photos. Probably loss of $400-500 overall and then had to check in that huge box too!

Lastly on a side note.. I had a huge frantic moment when I misplaced my backpack!! EVERYTHING was in there. Seriously was one of the worst feelings ever!! Pretty much out of nowhere I was just standing there in front of a booth and noticed I wasn't wearing my backpack.. WTHeck!!!??? Quickly retraced my steps.. running.. looking.. asking around.. etc etc etc. All the way back to my rental car.. YES.. left it right there in the front seat and forgot (when I briefly went out to unload that huge UD Monumental box). Can't think of a time I was ever that woried and relieved!! And from there.. I knew I was DONE and just left! Mentally drained.. LoL I'm def getting old. Happy and super blessed of the outcome though. Until next year folks.. happy collecting.

Nice pick ups. I really like the Yao Finite and the Black Refractor. Seems you are a Yao collector too. Thanks for sharing.

The rest of my BGS cards arrived. Did 5-day service at the Nationals and all went well. Overall seems like BGS tightened up a bit. Also picked up a huge Towns one of one!

Thanks, and yes that Yao Finite was actually my favorite new pickup of the Nationals.
