Default Cleveland National Experience

I have been to the National a handful of times, and this year was the best. The dealers and prices were great! There were times when I held cards that were priced a little high, only to have the dealer offer it to me at a lower price without even asking. I was there all five days, so there was no rush. I used a bunch of time to talk to the dealers about collecting, and found that most wanted to do so as well.

The Panini redemption trade-up program was outstanding! I had to wait a long time (two + hours), but I was able to trade my Tevin Coleman redemption for a Julio Jones Contenders variation rookie on-card auto! I was really pumped about that one, as I had been looking for that card at the show. I also watched as they treated other customers very fairly (saw a guy pull a Stephen Curry 1 of 1 auto out of a National box) with individual cards and boxes of wax. If they can explore/implement ways to expedite the process, it would be perfect!

Topps did an outstanding job this year with pack wars (it is loud, but people are enthusiastic and having fun), and by putting golden tickets in this weeks Topps Living Set boxes. I was able to pick up a ticket and got to meet the artist, and get the Lindor lithograph and card signed! It certainly was a memorable experience.

Waxpack Nation was one of my favorite booths as they had a significant amount of Topps Living set cards. The guys working the booth were awesome, and I was able to pick up several cards in great condition for the set. They also had a lot of nice Topps Now cards that were fairly priced.

My suggestion to people that want to attend the National in the future--try to stay as many days as possible. When you don't have to rush, it is a much more enjoyable show.

Agreed about Waxpack Nation, I picked up several nice Indians cards from them at solid prices. All of the guys there were really friendly and helpful.

They had stacks of some of the cards that I needed--with how condition sensitive Living Set is, I was happy to pay above average prices for a couple because I was able to have them in hand and pick the ones I wanted.
