Default Paul Pierce Guys

I'm one of those just got back in to the hobby after collecting early 90s stuff as a kid stories. My knowledge of anything pre 2016 is pretty limited.

Paul Pierce is my all time favorite player and I'd like to add some of his stuff to my growing collection.

Right now I just aimlessly see a nice looking card within my budget and snag it.

What are the must haves? Certain sets/cards I should keep an eye out for?

Anybody wanna show off some sweet action?

You got my attention!

For show off I have a thread if RC year stuff. The link to the Flickr album is in the OP here.
https://www.blowoutforums.com/showthread.php?t=1176864

For key stuff I’m a fan of his rookie year releases. Topps Chrome and Finest are my preference. He also has only two licensed rookie year autos. An UD and a Topps. The Topps is his only one in an NBA uniform.

Other stuff? Collect what you like. I love Gold refractors, but don’t love patch/ relic cards. I save my COMC funds for refractors.

I also place a premium on 2012-13 or older releases.

My final piece of advice is to grab a few on-card autos. He has a nice signature and hasn’t signed since 2010 or so.

I’ve been collecting his stuff for several years now. He has a large collector base and most of his premium stuff is long gone. However, he has some great low end stuff (I prefer some of the 99-00 and 00-01 inserts). I’m happy to answer any questions at any point.

Whoa! Awesome collection. I really like the looks of the flair showcase. The topps chrome is a must as well.

Thanks for the info. I'll let ya know if I score anything nice.

Pierce has some sweet insert cards from his first two to three years. I know he's in 99-00 Skybox More Good Stuff #'ed/99 as I recently snagged one of those

[QUOTE=SHowley2003;13732061]You got my attention!

I just checked out your PP collection on Flickr: WOW. You are right his signature is really nice.
A little off topic but one reason I am not a fan of modern on card auto’s is the crappy nature of most player’s sig’s. They have no pride in their signature. Why can’t they learn to sign their own name somewhat coherently? It’s pathetic.

Didn't realize how pricey Paul Pierces auto has become. Remember 10 years ago maybe shorter (time flies) you could by or trade for his autos very easily.

Stuff like his rc rubies/credentials/legacy prob go without saying.

His chrome rc refractor is amazing though, same for his Finest rc ref. With those 2 alone I'd be more than content with filling his RC gap. Maybe add cheap E-X Century and Showcase rc's just cuz they're purdy. Also his spx finite spectrum. (prob not cheap)

As for inserts, yikes, so many. Some of my faves that I can add to later if you still want more examples.

Zodiac, that Pierce/KG auto is phenomenal! I also love the Topps Contemporary autos. Such a clean design.

Getting a SP Authentic or SPx Rookie is good. Or a early years on card auto. Then when you sell you won't loose or make anything. Chrome refractor could be overpriced.

Personally i like his inscription the best.

Great card.

That’s great advice regarding buying early stuff. That way when you do move it you won’t loose money. He’s retired so there is no Loren value coming other than the value the hobby as a whole creates. It goes along with the cards from his playing years will have more value over stuff produced now and in the future.

Great stuff on here. A lot of colorful stuff out there. I have always been partial to the simplicity of Topps Chrome and TC Refractors. He really has a nice signature. Here's my Paul Pierce stuff.
