Default Missing Mag - worth a negative?

Hi all,
Wanted to get everyone's opinion on kind of an odd situation. I purchased https://www.ebay.com/itm/2015-Flawle...72.m2749.l2649 and specifically in the description, it listed that all card were shipped in the case advertised.

When I received the card, it was in a top-loader. I sent the seller a message asking why it wasn't shipped in the mag, and they responded saying they weren't sure how that happened.

What's a bit funny about the above is my name was written on the top-loader, sooooooooo.... yeah.

The card itself looked fine, so I asked the seller if they either had a mag they could ship me or throw a few bucks my way so I can purchase one myself (don't have a local card shop near me). It's been a 6 days now without any response and am wondering if it's a complete ass-move to leave a negative or neutral. Yep, 100% card got to me safe and sound, but if what I received wasn't what was ironically specifically called out in the description with no response to fix it, seems off to me.

Seller did state that the case would be included, so you might be able to get a $2 refund out of them or get them to mail you a mag.... Ask him if he has mailed one out or plans on issuing a refund. Not a fan of partial refunds, but it's item not as described. Also note that he may want you to send the whole thing back if you aren't happy with what you got.

Neutral feedback, IMO.

So, are you buying the card or the mag...? Who the hell cares if it was shipped in a mag or top loader as long as it got to you in the condition described. Card arrived safe leave a positive and move on.

As far as not having a LCS near you, which I'm starting to hear this line a lot, buy some mags off eBay (you know, the place you bought the card from) as they're cheaper than a LCS would charge.

People seriously insist on making eBay as difficult as possible.

Yea, that would be pretty douchey if you left a neg or neutral.

The seller has 4 negatives in the past year, one of them being for the exact same issue. That would lead me closer to giving a negative. Mistakes happen, but he’s done it before and will keep doing it if he faces zero consequence.

I'd wager I'm buying the listing as stated. Happy with the card, but that's why I wanted a second opinion. I can tell you're having a bad day, but thanks for your perspective either way.

Right. I'm not trying to be one of those "nickel and dime" eBayers, but why specifically call out something if it's not included? Just really confused on the extra effort of taking it out of the mag, writing my username on the top-loader, and shipping that instead.

I think neutral is the way I'm leaning. Love the card, but the experience is what I'm also reviewing here. 100% fine if they handled this with shipping one out or a couple bucks my way, but since the seller has been pretty shady on responses, just seems odd.

Could you expand a bit? If something is called out in the listing description and not included, after me reaching out and giving plenty of time to respond, is that unreasonable? I guess it might be the context of the value of the mag vs the card, but for them to call out specifically it would be shipped in that and for it not to be,

You are everything thats wrong with ebay. You bought the card not the mag. To be honest he did you a favor not shipping it in a mag which are notorious for crushing the cards.

I personally wouldn't leave the neutral or the negative. I see where it says in the case pictured, but not sure that its a huge deal. If card made it ok then that is what you are evaluating. I guess I am not understanding where not getting the mag, made it a bad or so/so experience.

Of course you are.

True, if the seller states it will come in the case pictured he should send it that way, but that shouldn't be a deal breaker or neg worthy.

Only way it would be neg worthy if it was a factory sealed mag that someone un-sealed and sent to save on shipping costs.

Everything? Jeesh, really questioning what all that other positive feedback I have is for I came at it from the perspective that I wouldn't do that to a buyer, especially if I specifically noted it.

I'll leave this thread as-is, appreciate everyone's opinions.

its kindergarten--treat those as you would want to be treated. End of story-leave a neutral.

All these idiots talking about the card--that is not the point. Is this real life?

Its not a big thing, but if people are not called out--they become more pos

give em hell.....

While the above seems like it is too much headache for $2, I have several times before decided to put a bid in on a low-end card ($10 or less) because it was cheap and came in a mag case I could repurpose. Sure the card was part of the sale, but 20%+ was the case. So I see where OP is coming from.

If it were me, I'd leave a positive. If it's that big of a deal to you, either leave a positive or leave no feedback at all. I can't think of a time where I'd leave a neutral. A negative to me is a jerk seller who refuses to accept a return or sells me something that clearly was not as described. A missing magnetic case would maybe be annoying, but not to the point where I'd hit their feedback.

Also, I'd recommend not calling out people giving their two cents here. You came here with your story asking for feedback. Don't be mad when you get feedback you don't necessarily agree with.

Card pictured in mag but shipped in a toploader is no biggie. BUT he advertised as shipping with the mag and if that helped to attract buyers (which in this case it appears it did) than seller has an obligation to ship with mag.

The fact that you messaged him about and no response, to me, warrants a neutral feedback at worst d/t poor communication.

Personally I would be satisfied with the transaction but you may very well feel differently.
