Default 2018 Bowman Prices

I noticed today that presale for 2018 Bowman is $125 for hobby and $275 for jumbo, I have not seen presale prices for Bowman this high in a long time. Do we think they are inflated as was Bowman Tek at one point preselling for $175 a box and has landed around $75 or so a box? I know Otani is causing the demand to go up and cause the increase but I wonder what the price may be closer to release, is $350 possible for jumbo? What do you think

Well... it releases 1 month after the season starts... so if Ohtani is 4-0 with 50Ks and a perfect game, this thing is $800 a box. If he blows out his arm and needs Tommy John, its down to $150 or so.

Imagine what prices would be up to if Otani ended up with the Yankees.

2010 (Strasburg) did have a somewhat similar meteoric rise but it didn't reach this level until after release, and that was after it was apparent the print run was quite conservative.

Is it already time to start the 2018 case price jumping thread?

Folks, there might exist better bowman products to open at value prices compared to those for 2018, hint hint.

Remember, the price of something is whatever someone is willing to pay. If Blowout bumped presale prices up and they were still moving product, why not continue to bump it?

I'm curious if it was tough to serial number the back of the cards due to the design.

I predict a $3000 jumbo case price peak between now and 3 weeks after release.

I don't know about 3,000. But prices will only go up, so people better buy it now even if they want it!!

Can’t stand when they put the serial number on the front of the card. With 2017 Bowman’s.bsst they slapped the number in the middle of the card and it ruined many of the cards for me

I love the serial # on the front. Sellers have gotten lazier and lazier over the years, often never listing the actual serial # or posting up a card back scan when selling. Having it on the front eliminates this.

I agree. I'd like to know the serial number in auction listings as well. Drives me nuts when they can't list the number or post a picture of the back. Especially when they say "see picture for details" but not all the details are in the picture......

The Japanese signature is pretty cool.

Unhappy

Jumbos sold out again. Wonder what they price at on the return. At this point I feel like the smart thing to do is sell my case, and buy a case of 2018 Draft in the fall plus something nice like a 2011 BC Trout.
