Unhappy Shipping / Did you already see that before ?

Hi,

Waiting a package from the US.
Should be mailed to my US Addy but the seller made a mistake and France has been added instead of USA.

https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfi...&s=ci&mail=sys

What can I do ? Or what the seller can do ?

Thanks for your help.

François

Did he just put in France with a US address? Or did he put a France address? Once I shipped out a 1st class package that was suppose to go to Australia but I mislabeled it and sent it to Austria but with the Australia address. It had the right postal code so it eventually got to Australia but it took 2 months to get there.

This. The Postal Code is key. Much more important than the Country name.

Looking at the scans on the D.C. Number, it looks like it's gone back and fourth from France to NY twice, and has been in transit since July?

From your tracking looks like it might be heading back to the US. So it's either going back to the sender's return address or they finally realize the mistake and will eventually make it to your US address.

Maybe have the seller call the USPS and have them intercept the package, and sent back to the seller? That's the only thing I can think of. Never seen it go back and fourth like that before without being RTS (return to sender)

I tried this with my situation and I was told that they couldn't do that for me since it was out of the country.

If the pattern indeed repeats its self, when the package does arrive back in NY, maybe that would be an option? I've never had to do this so I have no idea

Like brought up, when the envelope is in the US the seller will be able to request an intercept and have it returned to him and then he can re-mail it to you with the correct address.

Hopefully the package is not damaged, it has taken quite a vacation this summer with a trip across the country and now a 3rd journey to France and I have to imagine it has been tossed around quite a bit.

In the past I had a package that was supposed to come to the U.S., but some how it was routed to Italy. It made its way back to France and then came to the U.S. and there was no problem for me, just extra delay but it arrived as intended. I would just give it some time and it should be OK.

This is the seller's problem to resolve, he must call USPS and have the package returned to him so he can PROPERLY address it. I would be seriously concerned and highly agitated at this point.

This is 50/50 in my opinion. When a buyer adds a US address and doesn't change the country and the seller just prints thru PayPal this happens. I get quite a few where I have to change the country because the buyer didn't.

The seller should have noticed it but ultimately the buyer needs to change it.

The barcode is embedded with France due to the country stated. It never sees a human and gets sent to France, France gets it and the computers say there is no New York France or what ever state is listed and kicks it back, the US gets it and reads France again.

Seller should be able to go to his P.O. and get it stopped.
