Thumbs down EPIC FAIL!!!! Need help Guys!!!

So, I couldn't make the Amazing Hawaii Comic Con, so a friend of mine went and got this for me by Ray Park...... But...

Needless to say when they sent the pm to me, I was screaming!!!! I sent him a very heartfelt letter via them but I didn't want my name on it!!! But my friend was so star struck!!!

And they already gave it to cgc hours later and cgc said they already fedexed it, not that I believe that all happened in a few hours...

I am so heartbroken........

After a shot or 2 of Vodka......... I had a idea.....

What if I got a sketch over the To Steven, perhaps get an artist to put a sith light saber or a sith symbol like this...

I'm open to ideas guys....... Not sure when Ray Park will return to Hawaii... Or should I just take it as a loss and just buy the comic again and submit it through the forums or something... This comic had sentimental value as I bought this comic personally 16 years ago...

Let me know guys.... Need Help

Thanks in advance guys!!!

If you want something done right...

But seriously... It sounds like this is for your collection. I'm sure when you wake up in the morning you won't think its such a big deal that it was personalized. If you were trying to flip it, then it would be a big value issue, but since the comic has sentimental value anyway...

At the very least, I wouldn't make matters worse by breaking the slab, trying to have somebody cover it up in a value added way, and then put more money into having it slabbed again. If you're going to do anything, get a new one and start over. Ray Park does plenty of appearances.

I suggest chalk it up and later down the road buy another copy.Im sure your buddy fills like chit over the matter and my guess he will make it up to you in some way.

Maybe in a few years you guys can go out for a few beers and talk about what happen.

The dumb things friends do to each other over the years and I'm sure some folks can write a book over there friendships.

Thanks for the reply Spider-Fan,

I was just thinking of the added cost for Ray Park Signature again... Would a pretty good artist be cheaper.... I think your right... Just buy the comic again, start from scratch...

Just bad Luck....

$110 Flushed down the toilet...

Question -- If it's for the PC, why the aversion to having your name on it?

It's a beautiful book and I think the signature position is perfect. Personally, I wouldn't mess with having anything done over it for fear of the results being much more uncomfortable for you than simply having your name on it!

And on a side note ... it's nice to have you back! I was just getting started around here when you went on your hiatus.

We've all spent More on less. At the end of the day, it may not be perfect but it's still awesome.

I get it. I don't like my name on things either, even info have No intention of selling them. The two most prominant reasons...
1. You just never know what is going to happen down the road. Tastes change, money gets tight, etc...
2. These people tend to be great at signing thier name but anything else is a coin flip. I've seen so many illegible and misspelled names. Am I Jason or Jayson? Easier to avoid the screw up.

Some other reasons too. At the end of the day, I do have a few personalized pieces.

At least it's not your friends name on the book lol.. after the first paragraph that's where I thought this was headed.

It sounds like you just wanted the signature.. I don't think adding something over to cover it up will help, you'll always know it's there.

Id keep it as is or start over with a new book.

Nice book and sig. It has great placement in that white area and the red ink pops. I'd be happy with that even with the personalization. Maybe get David Prowse to sign the Vader side as well?

You nailed it!! What if he got my name wrong! Or put my friend's name? Or just like you said also... What if something comes up and I want to trade it or flip it. For those that remember me on here, I am prone to sale highly valued things of mine at the drop of a hat... Now this will always be mine, I wouldn't even pass this on to my daughter...

Ah well, I'll just buy another one signed already.. And I didn't get mad at my friend. They are not used to doing things like this and plus no good Karma ever comes from being like that...

Yeah, I'll just put it in my office.... It will be a nice conversation piece.... People will come in and say... Oh!! You know Ray Park?!!!?!?! And I would say, yes I do!!! LoL!!!
