Will harper rookies reach 2011 trout prices?

Wow these have shot up. 2012 Update going for $50 at auction.

I remember last summer Trout raw rookies were around $65, they took a big jump this year.

Are the Harpers on the same path?

I just checked out active listings on the Update #183 and they are going crazy now. I have no crystal ball so I have no idea what they will do in the future, but Harper's Update #183 is on fire at the moment.

You have to figure the douche factor. Everyone likes Trout. There are plenty of reasons to dislike Harper. Plus collectors hate the Nats always going one n done in the playoffs every year.

They shouldn't. He has more rookie cards, he's not as good and this is a rookie debut card.

I agree Harper does have a ton of options when it comes to his rookie card, but his 2011 BC is the one to own. I believe the BC will creep up to the $3K plus range if he can win another MVP. His 2012 Topps update is well over $200 now and I think he's 2012 Topps Chrome is the one that is undervalued. I do think we are looking at our modern day Mickey Mantle (Trout) & Willie Mays (Harper).

Harper+Judge prices are simply out of control.

I sold 2011 Update Trouts for $5, 2012 Update Harper for $28, and a 2017 Series 1 Judge SSP got traded for a Randy Johnson Auto /25.

I need to stop trying.

I keep wondering where the short print in '12 Update will end up - the one with Bryce in a suit. It does not have the RC logo however.

I believe his RC in Series 2 was SP. So the RC in update is more common and the one that is going up in price.

I honestly can't believe these have gone over $25. So many of them and he has so many other Topps RC options. Plus, as mentioned, it's just a rookie debut card, doesn't even have stats on the back.

The uptick started months ago....

I get a lot of things wrong in this hobby... Most things

But i saw this coming with Trouts 2011 update and end of last year with bryant topps series 2

Starting about 6-8 months ago i have bought 80 Harper base updates and 15-16 gold sparkles...

Most of the base i paid 4-8 bucks for and sparkles 20-40

I just sold about half of them and i bought a psa 6 1956 mantle...

But was i dumb to sell so early.. Only time will tell...

But the mantle was pretty much free.. So as of right now i am happy...

That's a pro move. Congrats. I remember these were all over COMC for $4.00 last year. I picked up one, but I clearly should have got them all. I never would have guessed that a Rookie Debut would get this much hobby love.

Even more amazing is that the AS card from the same set hasn't moved. There are still a lot of them available on COMC below $5. The power of the logo is real.

For the high roller sure. But for the average collector it's the update

Card has went from 5-6 dollars to as high as 50

Without question the most popular purchase for Harper last 2 months on eBay

I would rather have 10-15 updates then 1 archives .. when looking at future value
