Surprised there is no thread for this game yet.
I completely missed the launch release of the Awakenings release and just noticed a box of Spirit of Rebellion on my local stores shelf for $150... I was like what is that and why is it so much. So went home and started researching it and watching videos of the game play... looks like a good game. Pretty in depth and fast paced. Of course now that box is gone at my local store, no others have any, but its still available online so I'm stuck ordering some. There will also be one final reprint of the first release in June. They are then re-organizing the releases into a standard release that will print all year and 2 single release expansions. I haven't played a dice game since Dragon Dice which didn't last long so we will see of a mixture of cards and dice can hold up over time. |

Probably no talk because it's not really collectable at the moment. I have full sets of both releases and the game is amazing, but it's been a terrible launch. Unless you're willing to buy singles or fight for scarce sealed product online, it's impossible to find. There's no running to the store and busting a few packs, and likely won't be for another couple of months if FFG keeps their word (which isn't their strong suit so far).

Yeah its really weird. Not surprised I totally missed its launch because I've never seen any product at the store before. It does sound like some distributors are screwing with their customers though holding back product to try and cash in if the price jacks as high as Awakenings did. My store order'd around 25 boxes and got 11 with no restock for a few weeks and hearing of other stores that got all they wanted and can still get plenty more.
The game will have to bust out of just the hard core SW fans who are buying up all the product at initial release to get full sets and start bringing in the general card gaming players to really grow but its going to be tough to pull large market from MtG, Vanguard, and Pokemon not to mention FoW now starting to come on. I'm hoping it does and in 10 years these releases will have Alpha\Beta or First Edition demand. |

Man, I just walk down the street (OK, so it's a 5 minute drive) to FFG HQ and they have all the product you could ever want to buy.
This is only backed by the fact that whenever I go through the checkout there are boxes sitting there to be bought. I don't play. Probably won't play. But it seemed neat, at least.

I love Destiny and think it's great.
Unfortunately, I have not played since the first prerelease due to schedule and Magic addiction.

Hard to get product where I am still, just got a half box of Spirit of Rebellion for my first of the new cards. Did get a Palpy though. Don't have much to support him but I'm a casual only player anyway.

Did a draft at a local store. It was there second, there still working out rules.
9 packs, bust 3 at a time. Pull one, pass to left. Bust 3, pass to right. Bust last 3 and pass back to left. Dice go into the middle then everyone collects at the end. Make 25 card decks. Everyone brings their character cards with them so don't have to use just the ones you draft. Can be tough to get enough playables plus I don't have a ton of characters or extra dice for them. 3 matches, usual ends up going to time or get decked. I think they were doing 30 min rounds. They count damage for tie breakers. Lost first two matches, one going to time where he got last shot of dmg to win tie breaker. Next I got decked hard. Won last one, they gave a pack per win so got one which I got crap in but I did do well in the draft packs. First 3, 2 legos both Bowcasters the light and Chewy's. Second 3 2 legos IG88 and Slave 1. Last 3 had jack. Sucks I had to pass a lego twice. Should just took my packs and left ha. Was fun but definitely awkward. |

I have a good collection so far, and have some up for sale on ebay as well. I am on a list for the Awakenings reprint which should come out anytime in the next week or so. Been really enjoying the game and hope more product can come out so everyone can get involved. I think that is the only thing holding it back.
New set looks fun with Mace, Thrawn, Ezra, and more....
