Sweet. Maybe he will have a good start or two and I can sell my orange chrome auto.

You can sell it now.

To me.

Just not for the price you want.

Good luck. Supposedly he will be in the bullpen.

If the offer you sent me was fair, why did you reject the offer I sent you for your orange that was slightly above the offer you sent me?

Well this thread blew up rather quickly. Not sure why it's not in the b/s/t section...

A few days later Thompson started and got rocked, so he sent me an even lower offer with a message that said "Great game last night"

When did I ever claim it to be "fair"? What is "fair"? You were selling a BGS 9 card of a prospect who had an ERA higher than 20, at the time. It's still over 6.

Why did I reject it? Because mine was an opening offer which you refused to counter. I would have gone significantly higher. However, one does not sell a card at a lower price than one would buy it at. I would have happily bought your card at the price you offered to buy mine at. I don't believe that your offer to buy mine at a higher rate obligates me to sell it to you.

We can discuss the concept of "buy low, sell high" here, if you want... but the idea of "sell low, buy high," which you are pushing here, isn't one that I want to embrace.

If you want to bring negotiations here, where they have no place, I can also bring your immature comments here. However, this is not the place for it, and I delete that garbage as soon as I see it. No place for such negativity in my life. You don't want to negotiate with me on the card, that's fine. We don't have to negotiate with one another.

I did counter. That's when you said "Not for a 9 of that BUM"

Please. Any comments I made would have been seen below.

I'll take credit for the "great game last night", but anything else you're quoting is ridiculous.

There's a difference between "BUM" and "bum", when it's said jokingly. Look at my collection of the guy. I obviously don't think he's a bum. I wouldn't still be buying his cards, as I referenced, if he was a bum. If you don't get my sense of humor, I apologize.

Further, I didn't counter your offer, I flat out denied it because your price was ridiculous, if my memory serves. This offer is from well over a month ago.

Finally - is there some sort of a rule about calling someone a bum?

Why are you even bringing this up? Is there a point? Bottom line, I don't want to pay your price. Attempting to "bum shame" me here isn't going to get it done, and in my opinion, making an offer on my card for the approximate same amount as to what I wanted to pay for yours was immature and completely unnecessary. Move on.

All that I said in this thread originally was that I hoped to sell my orange now that he made it to the show. I made no mention of the offers that you sent me until you quoted my post.
Edit: I did not mean for your showoff thread to get derailed. That is a great collection of Thompson's you have.

He had already made it to the show last year.
