Congratulations to Raptors 905 Head Coach Jerry Stackhouse on winning 2016-17 Coach of the Year Award!

He's going to be a great Coach in the NBA in my opinion!

That's awesome! I didn't even know he was coaching. Stackhouse has been one of my favorite players since 95 lol.

He was a Raps assistant last year. This is his first year as a head coach in the D.

Love some Stackhouse I'm happy to hear this. I knew the 905 Raptors were THE DLeague team this year but I didn't know he was coaching them. I still got most all his rookie cards & got a pretty decent PC of him at least in my mind. Not the most rarest of cards but all the classic RCs of his & all the Metal cards of him while a Piston & some cool insert cards of his. Not sure how he coaches and his approach but wish him nothing but the best of luck in his coaching career. Go 905 Raps!

He sucks at tipping. I waited on him 20 years ago at Outback Steakhouse. He just signed a 60+ million dollar contract that day and came in for dinner. His bill was $65 and he left me $70 total. Cheapskate.

He took it as a promotion. A chance to run a team and not just be part of someones staff.

I would think of it the same way. I wish more teams would use the D-League (or G-League now) the same way with coaches. At this rate, Stack should be in line for a head coaching gig in the next few years, or at the bare minimum a very high-level assistant position.

He's just a tad bit older than me, but I remember the first time I saw him play high school ball at the state championships here in NC, and the UNC Dean Dome of all places. He was a senior at Kinston, and ended up losing the 4A title game to some guys. The very next year he was at UNC.

Stack has always been a local to me, and a hell of a player...sadly I too had NO idea he was coaching! Looks like he's excelling there as well. Great to hear, and looks like we will be hopefully seeing him in the NBA again at some point as a coach. Just knowing this all makes me feel extremely OLD now.

Hell the Cavs head coach Tyronn Lue is actually younger than me......yeah I'm old.

Tyronn Lue played ball here in Nebraska where I am from. Always thought that was pretty sweet when he drafted into the NBA. I had a nice lil collection quite some time ago, don't anymore but thought about starting it back up.
