Loot Crate + MLB = Sports Crate

Really excited about this. I remember a Twitter discussion a while back about doing a Loot Crate-type thing for sports. It's finally happening.

They just have 10 teams for now, though most of the "big" clubs you'd imagine. Already signed up for the Giants Season Pass. The sample items shown seem desirable enough so long as they keep that standard for all 5 months. The possibility of winning "exclusive team experiences" is a nice little bonus as well.

Cubs stuff at $40 a month. Tempting because these have good resale value if im not mistaken. Right now ill save my money though

My guess is that some of the stuff will be stadium giveaways that this company bought

This would be cool if my team was included, but $40 a month is pretty steep. That's almost $500 over a year. I don't think I could do anything more than buy a month at a time every now and then, and even then I think I'd be able to find some other Twins stuff that for $40 where I actually know what I'm getting and would be much more comfortable with purchasing

I think it's only for 5 months and they will reassess if they will do this again next season. $180 for the 5 months. I still wouldn't pay for this as it's a bit steep without having a better idea what's in the box. They say $80+ value in every box, but it could be that only extremely rich people who think a banana costs $5 would value it at $80+.

I currently do the WWE Slam Crate that comes out every other month...

I've been able to sell off the majority of stuff on eBay to cover the cost of the Crate and keep the shirt and "action figure" that comes with it...

The SlamCrate is a win/win so far for me, but I don't think I'd do $40 a month for a Mets one...

action figure looks horrible. Yankees have Tanaka and I laughed when I saw it.

Not interested in trying to resell either or spend money on things I don't know what's coming in. If I want a shirt.... I'll just go buy a shirt... or a hat.... or whatever.

Hope everyone who buys these enjoys them though

The whole idea behind loot crate is it is a mystery. Just like opening a box of cards. You are suppose to enjoy unboxing and finding new gear or Bobbleheads or whatever the "theme" is relating too

The Value is there... You can usually eBay the stuff for as much as the crate cost.

It is not for everybody... I have Purchased the big valued $90 South Park one and was completely content with the value they sent (People were selling the items individually on eBay for probably around $120) I have also purchased another theme one on a $25 promotional rate and was happy with the purchase.

If they had a Reds version I would surely try it out for a month or 2.

Usually the stuff they include is specific to Loot Crate and is licensed as such from the company. It surely won't be "stadium giveaways".

For those of you getting this, are you guys going for the season pass?
The sales window for first month closes in 19hrs, and I'm torn if I'm going with season pass or monthly basis, and also considering not buying at all...

The positives I see for season pass is, $20 cheaper when considered buying each month, exclusive figure for season pass, and slightly increased chance for VIP experience (though I'm not counting on winning this at all).
With monthly, of course, I could quit anytime, and that is the positive.

The only thing that actually interests me at this point is the Syndergaard figure, so that's why I might not buy at all...
I can probably pick it up on eBay if want, is what I'm thinking.

I've never bought crates before, so don't know what to expect.

Got my Cubs crate today. Shirt, Lester figure, pin, Montero mini cornhole game, and 1 Topps crate exclusive card of Lester. Said #1 in the Cubs set of 5.
