The haul for Martin Hanzal seems insane, but it also seems like a bit of a light haul for Tampa Bay in the Bishop deal. The upcoming expansion draft seems to have really forced their hand.

Hoping the Wild aren't sending as much as reported for Hanzal. Seems like a mediocre player, and while we should be all in this year, I doubt Hanzal is the guy we should be targeting to put us over the top

Some of the analysis says the Lightning won the trade - because Bishop is basically a rental?

I agree - Hanzal is not a huge acquisition and the Wild overspent here.

Wild just announced we got Hanzal, Ryan White, and a 2017 4th rounder for our 2017 1st rounder, 2018 2nd rounder, conditional 2018 4th rounder, and minor leaguer Grayson Downing. Arizona paying half of Hanzal's contract

Well, that's better than the original reports as the picks are more spread out, but I still don't really see the point. It really wasn't needed at all, and I worry about chemistry adding a player to this team this late in the year. I'm all in this year as this season is the best shot at a title this team has ever had, but I don't really get this move

Hanzal will be a good depth addition, he doesn't put up huge numbers but he's a good two-way player.

I know the first-round pick seems like a lot, but with the Wild's current standing they're giving up a spot likely in the 27-30 slot. The 2018 pick they're receiving, barring a quick turnaround in Arizona, is likely only a drop of 12-15 spots in terms of draft positioning. Not nearly as bad as it first sounds.

If the Wild had given up a top-15 pick I'd be worried. But they're giving up a late first-round pick in what seems to be a weak draft year. Not a high price to pay.

Flyers better start making some moves. Other than Simmonds, anyone should be available.

You're right, it just doesn't seem like a necessary move and doesn't seem like it adds a whole lot to the team. Hopefully both will contribute to a deep playoff run this year, but I'm much more puzzled by the deal than upset about it

The Lightning were in a tough position with Bishop. It's a light market for goaltenders, he's a UFA after the season, and Tampa didn't have a lot of cap flexibility to take on additional contracts.

Nice pickup for the Kings.

The more I think/read about the trade, the more alright I am with it. It's not a huge deal, but should help with some depth and experience, plus keeps these guys off of our main competitors' teams

Really like the move by the Wild. Any chance Kunin leaves Wisconsin early?

Still waiting on some Rangers traction trading for a defenseman. The price keeps rising on Shattenkirk so I doubt it will be him

Though should be the realistic untouchables. I didn't add Simmons cause you already named him. Defense outside of Ghost and Prov suck but teams stupidly would still want them thinking they can fix them. Look at Arz and TB for example.

Too bad Wings won't hold the fire sale they need. The run is over boys. Tear it down and start over.

Me neither. The Kings either have a plan with Quick (they're moving on or they're worried about his health for the future) or they just kept Bishop from going to another contender. Maybe? Beyond that, I can't think of another reason to add goaltending to a team that's been getting strong goaltending from Budaj all year and just got Quick back.

Coyotes are retaining half of his salary + the cap hit. That alone puts me on the Wild side now. They were able to keep Scandella and the rest of the team intact. Let's see what they can do in the playoffs!

The Caps have made a statement with the acquisition of Shattenkirk, their already solid defense and potent powerplay just got that much better!
