Question Basketball fans from ATLANTA ?

Hi,

I live in france and decide to make a basketball trip from 3/2/17 to 3/8/17 to see CAVS/HAWKS, PACERS/HAWKS and WARRIORS/HAWKS. Very lucky to have those 3 teams playing in the same town in one week.

Flight tickets and game tickets are already bought but need your advices for everything else.

Some of you can wonder why Atlanta ? The main reason is that I also want to meet my idol, grant hill (who is hawks co-owner now). Will try if possible to meet him at Philips Arena or TNT Studios

I have some questions but will love to get others advices and/or meet people from Blowout when I will be there.

- Do you have any card show in ATL on this period ?
- I have seen several card shop in ATL area but which one have more basketball stuff ?
- Best place to sleep ? Around Philips Arena ?
- Is it possible to visit TNT studio (and especially Inside Stuff show)
- Best sport bar to watch other NBA games ? (and if possible the Duke/UNC NCAA game on saturday).
- Any sport related place that I need to visit ?
- When is arena doors opening before a game ? Easy to watch warmup or not ?

Thanks to everyone that can help me

Might want to check out this spot for games. I only been to Atlanta a few times back in '99 for the National I was a teenager. I am not much help.

Home - Stats Food + Drinks Restaurant - Atlanta's Favorite Sports Bar

Also the college football hall of fame is there, if you're interested.

Atlanta you say?

Two words.

Mardi Gras.

I am not talking about the weeklong festivities in the NO either.

Jermaine Dupree always meets visitors at baggage claim and yells out, "Welcome to Atlanta where the Playa's play, and we ride on them thangs like erryday."

No card shops in Atlanta. Closest one is about 20 miles north on 75. Champion Sportscards

Peachtree Plaza is the best place to sleep. High end. But a lot of great options around there. But whatever you do don't go south of I-20 to sleep. That's your warning.

College Football HOF is awesome. Right next door to Phillips Arena. Worth the $25.

Doors typically open 2 hours before game time. At least they use too.

Wouldn't hurt for him to check out the SW side of town and all parts of the greater Atlanta area to get a feel for the whole city.

Wow, this is akin to giving up a fishing honey hole!
They used to have a "two for 20" special...Like the "two for 10" that Burger King has. Almost like that. Sort of like it.

Ok, guess I will choose a place to sleep located in downtown Or is it better to sleep in Midtown ? Or Buckhead ?
Thanks for the answers.

Will try to go to college football HOF ! Seems great.

What is the best way to move ? Metro, bus, uber, taxi ?
Do you know if we can visit NBA TV Studio ?

One of the best card shops in the south east is about 1 1/2 hour from Atlanta ( doubt you're willing to drive that but it's worth it ). Martys Sports Card Exchange in Chattanooga TN. Chattanooga is also a decent sized city with a lot of stuff to do. I know you probably don't want to go that far out of Atlanta but if you're willing it would be worth it. It's my local shop and I drive about 45 min one way when I go.

having stayed in ATL while passing through for a baseball stadium tour, you definitely get what you pay for as far as lodging. keep that in mind.

I have some questions but will love to get others advices and/or meet people from Blowout when I will be there.

- Do you have any card show in ATL on this period ? East Cobb Sports Collectible Show - they meet every Sunday 10am - 4pm at the Hilton Garden Inn - 3045 Windy Hill Road
- I have seen several card shop in ATL area but which one have more basketball stuff ? There actually aren't many...
- Best place to sleep ? Around Philips Arena ? A hotel. There are tons of them haha
- Is it possible to visit TNT studio (and especially Inside Stuff show) Pretty sure you can, but you may want to call ahead
- Best sport bar to watch other NBA games ? (and if possible the Duke/UNC NCAA game on saturday) There are a few right around from Phillips... not much help cause I can't remember the name
- Any sport related place that I need to visit ? College Football Hall of Fame
- When is arena doors opening before a game ? Easy to watch warmup or not ? Usually isn't but with those teams it will be a little more difficult

Thanks to everyone that can help me

Thierry
