Default Baltimore Question

How safe is the midtown baltimore area, near the university? Say to walk around at night? Never been to this city and trying to plan where to stay to see a show.

Not the best but not the worst. Key is to just walk with a purpose

Just uber it...the inner harbor area is safe, but you have to be careful how far you stray from it.

LOL, love the wording. Its "safe" but don't stray too far. Not my definition of safe.

The vast majority of people do not feel safe in Baltimore at night. There is a reason it is in the Top 10 most dangerous cities in our country. You are probably ok if you are with people in well populated areas. Go by yourself, or off the beaten path and you are taking a risk IMO.

I wouldn't walk around by myself that's for sure.

Like others have said, don't go past the inner harbor area and certainly don't walk alone. Always be on alert. I am a life long Baltimore resident and I no longer go downtown at night time. That should tell you something.
