Default So, I've decided to collect Jordan

I was fortunate enough to watch the 1984 Summer Olympics as a 13 year old boy. Yada yada yada, always liked Jordan. As a kid in 1986 i ripped fleer wax and built the set. Sold it in 1994 to pay for my NHL Card habit. Quit sports cards cold turkey in 1997.

Came back again briefly in 2003, then for good in 2005, but with a twist... Graded Cards. They were oh so costly in the 90s when i was collecting then, then upon my return in 2005, i learned of their collapse, price wise. After a long period of winning raw cards on eBay that sellers described as "MINT!" only to see they werent when they arrived, i decided it was time to only buy graded cards. Yada yada yada. Bought a centered 86F Jordan PSA 5 last year and also picked up some of his other slabs in psa 9/10 form, but lost the zest about a year ago, so into the closet they went, and off i went doing other things.

This summer, decided it was a good idea to collect jordan again (horrible timing, eh? lol) I'm a "PSA Guy" first, but am learning once again to like BGS's and here and there, some raw cards too!

anywho..... here are some group pics of some pickups so far...

It may be a long time before I can afford the 86 Fleer Monster. My plan is to finish my BGS 9 set off (all subs 9 or better) with the Jordan. However, that assumes I will be willing to overpay for a BGS 9 checklist and a few of the commons. Btw, your 87-88 Fleer MJ is awesome.

Nice work man. I suggest grabbing a 93 MJ Finest Refractor pronto, they seem to be climbing a bit.

Great start and that PSA 5 Rookie is a good one.

I see you've joined the dark side. Really nice centering on that PSA 5. That's called buying the card and not the case.

I would take that all day long over something like this even with a higher grade...bleh.

1986 FLEER MICHAEL JORDAN RC #57 PSA 7 NM CHICAGO BULLS

When it comes to the MJ Fleer RC it's all about the centering IMO.

Wow, what a beauty!! I really like that Topps Gold Label, I bet it looks stunning in hand!

Oh, and since 1984 is being thrown around, I was born in '84

Since we are talking about 1984, I was 22 in 1984. Guess that makes me "old school".......

Awesome cards. I like that Team Leader insert a lot. I've been trying to get a steal on one via auction but it's just not happening. I also appreciate that you've got the 93-94 Beam Team, too. That one gets overlooked and undervalued.

Also, I like the 3x card pictures. Look great on my phone, anyway. Easier to look at than the big one-card-only shots.

Thanks so much for your kind words fellas! It took me a while to find a centered, low graded copy of his '86F, so i am glad to own that one

All very nice cards

That 97 Metal Universe base is a tough card to get in a Mint 9

Agree with Drobfan on an early MJ Refractor as being a great future aquisition

Keep em coming!

Default jordans

good luck with your pc. really nice cards. thanks for sharing. that 87-88 9 is more impressive than people think rarely gets great grades, and a shorter print run from what i'm told.

Nice stuff.

All 3 of his foil inserts from 95-96 Skybox Premium are masterpieces to me. I'm still missing the Standouts.
