Default Women's Soccer Collectors

I think there are more collectors of women's soccer on the forum then there used to be. I thought it might be useful to have a thread for collectors to list who they collect (and why if they choose). Maybe add your wantlist too so that we can maybe help each other out here and there. And lastly, use it as a showoff thread if people want to as well.

I'm a fan of Germany especially Sara Daebritz and the powerhouse Alexandra Popp. Outside of some signed postcards from Germany and some World Cup stickers, there's not much out there. So, I do collect some of the US team as well. The players I collect are Julie Johnston, Crystal Dunn, Lindsey Horan, Sam Mewis and Mallory Pugh. I also casually peruse stuff of Rose Lavelle and some international players. I hate Hope Solo, but have luck pulling her unfortunately. So if there's a Hope Solo person out there, we might be best friends. EDIT: I have way better luck with Wambach than Solo. haha

Some cards I've been looking for:

Julie Johnston

Well, I guess this thread is just going to be mine then. So be it. Olympic women's soccer tournament starts tomorrow; so, here's my Julie Johnston collection:

Only missing one Johnston to be complete for the time being.

Anyone else? Bueller?

Nice! Get it for a good deal?

I've been balking at what her Leaf autos go for considering she's not starting in the Olympics nor did she in the WC. I think she's a good striker, but coach don't see it my way. haha Waiting for her prices to match her role on the team.

After watching Press against Colombia, she played very very well. Problem I see is that her and Morgan play the same spot on the field and there's no room for two of the same player on Ellis' team. They also don't have any chemistry as a result of being so similar. It's a shame.

I need to pick up some Shannon Boxx stuff.
Other than that, I just dabble in women's soccer.

I did get it for a good deal, I think. It was a late night auction, right around $22 shipped. Everyone was hoggin them up because it was her first auto.

I agree with you, Morgan is stunting her growth a little. She actually has similar skill and passes better. Morgan seems to be much faster. Leroux missing the Olympics was big for her though. It's an embarrassment of riches.

There's one eBayer that basically manipulated the price of all of her Leaf autos (well at least the parallels). You can see them now with high BIN's on them on the Bay. I'm planning on waiting out the Olympics and hoping her price drops then. We'll see how that works out for me. haha

Press is a far better playmaker than Morgan, but Morgan (at least on the national team) just has a better nose for the ball in the box. Ball finds her in great scoring positions (she has skill too obviously and can set herself up for shots). Press can play anywhere on the pitch it seems where Morgan has to be the striker.

Do you have a wantlist at all? There aren't many of us out there as it is. It's also nice to have an extra set of eyes (like for that Chicago Red Stars set); hope you picked one of those up because the team has been sold out of those for awhile now.

I've been collecting on and off for the last few years, I have some of the old upperdeck cards from the WPS, but I have been a lot more interested in collecting NWSL cards. Some teams are starting to make a few homemade cards like the Redstars and Orlando Pride. Other then that I have been on a binge with the USWNT Set all im missing for base autos is Ashlyn Harris but I am in no hurry for it. I look forward to the new set coming in October.
Here is my total women's soccer collection:

I am actually not sure how many total cards there are. The Orlando City Foundation sells the cards in packs of five for a donation of $5 I only bought two since that's the minimum order. However I think they have in total 20 players and 4 coaches to get. Unfortunately its random also so you'll likely get some repeats

Thanks for sharing! That's a sweet collection you've got going.

I'm also super appreciative of the information about the Orlando Pride stuff. I just ordered 6 packs; shipping is included in that $5 as well, which is even better.

Is that second group of Red Stars cards from this year? I'll have to keep an eye out on their store for when they make their extras available. Or do you have an extra set for trade?

That's the sort of stuff I hope we can all help each other keep an eye out for (like all three of us haha).

I include womens football in my blog but this is the only checklist I've published so far for cards produced by actual clubs. I've got a 2010 Boston Breakers set ready to add tomorrow as an illustrated checklist of 12 cards:

Football Cartophilic Info Exchange: Chicago Red Stars - Chicago Red Stars (2016)

Thanks for letting me know, I thought it might be 24 cards. I know the coach and assistant coach are included in the set.

Anyone else know of an club-specific sets?

I have the complete set from the 2015 Chicago Red Stars. Do you want a list and a scan?

I had planned on keeping you in the loop with the Orlando set once I get the packs in. With any luck, I'll get a complete set with 6 packs.

Got my 6 packs in today. Holy hell the collation is so rough. Out of 30 total cards, I only pulled 16 unique cards (3 of them are coaches or whatever too). These aren't your normal packs from teams even where like pack #1 gives you the same 5 cards every time. They are totally random in the pack and there's no way to tell who's in any of the packs from the outside either. A complete set of these is a real challenge I'm thinking.

I might just post this in the break section actually. haha

Busted some more packs. I'm glad I don't need a team set to feel complete because I would go crazy trying to build one from busting packs. Plus it looks like there may be player cards not included in the packs. Check out my break thread for the details. Craziness.

Just saw this thread and thought I'd bump it up for the NWSL playoffs. Both semi games have been very competitive and fun to watch. I'm a Red Stars fan and season ticket holder so I'm bummed about the first game. Hoping Western New York can pull this one out.

I collect any national team members and Red Stars. I have the 2016 Red Stars set but somehow missed the 2015 set if anyone has an extra they want to unload.

I collect women athletes just like male athletes. I'm just now getting to soccer but I do want to eventually have a nice collection of female players too.

Agreed. I didn't get to watch as much of it because of the NFL package, but I watched a lot of extra time. Williams is fun to watch. Most of the PK's at the end of the game were poor though. The Spirit only have themselves to blame for losing that game.

Some recent pick-ups. First, the older stuff (plus a Press):
