Default Super Tecmo - Okoye Autograph

Hey guys, I'm more of a baseball guy so this is my first time in the football forum. I got Christian Okoye to autograph my copy of Super Tecmo yesterday at Tri-Star and I figured it was worth venturing over to share a picture. Okoye laughed and was really friendly with everybody in line...he seemed to legitimately enjoy interacting with the fans. Thanks for looking!

Really!? I heard he was a nightmare :-)

That's extremely cool!! Have you thought about getting that framed? I think that would be a cool idea and make it a really unique item to display!!

AWESOME! Best video game ever. When original Tecmo came out, I kept stats for my season in a notebook. I was so happy when Super Tecmo came out cause it kept the stats when you played a season!

Well played, sir (or ma'am).

And yes, I am planning to get it framed. I thought about getting a jersey as a background, but I think I'll probably print up a poster/collage of images from the game...spiking the ball after a touchdown, the play call screen, that sort of thing.

Okoye is still around the KC area, I believe. He once did a signing for Toys for Tots and did it for free.

For a while he was out in the Los Angeles area. A buddy of mine managed a Buffalo Wild Wings out there and he would have "Nigerean Nightmare" nights where he'd come in and sign autographs.

A few years ago, NFL Films Presents did a special on Super Tecmo and for part of it, they filmed Okoye playing the game for the first time (he chose to be the Broncos...the Broncos!).

I can't find that video, but this is kind of a cool clip interviewing Okoye about Tecmo.

You should try to get Steve DeBerg to sign it as well.

You seem like a cool dude, OP. I proudly display a copy of Tecmo Super Bowl on a shelf at my house, even though I haven't owned a Nintendo for years - I played the hell out of that game back in the day.

Thanks, man...I knew I'd like it over here on the football side of the forum...clearly full of exceptionally perceptive individuals.

He most likely chose the Broncos because he STILL has nightmares about the Smiling Assassin Steve Atwater
