How can the sport not be accelerating with him a Vlad and Tatis acuna and DeGrom out there every week. It’s insane how good these guys are and how good the sport is to watch right now.

edit: you can kinda see it in the player threads. Love me some Ohtani, but pop culture is what it is if yah know what I mean. Gotta be hip to have followers

Shame he got intentionally walked with Upton on second.
But it was fun seeing him make bunch of face expressions to Upton(?) at first base.
I wonder what it all meant.

I purchased a Topps Chrome Blue Wave Auto Refractor
PSA 9 for 2,395. Maybe overpaid a bit but my rational
is that my other two cards a Bowman Chrome 9.5/10 auto
and Black Label 2017 Topps Now have performed so well
this year that oh well might as well. I am sure the adrenaline
is flowing through all our veins watching Ohtani and I can’t wait
for my main PC Trout to come back. Deal the cards!

Ohtani is a great barometer for the card market as a whole, no? What he is doing is truly unreal.

The great thing about Ohtani is his success will bring in a market that Vlad, Tatis, acuna, etc cannot. The Asian market and money is huge. In any other environment his stuff would be double the price and the low/mid non auto stuff would be going crazy. People got burned with the basketball run up and the “base” movement, but the simmering fire with Ohtani is rookie card driven. In fact baseball is the one sport that the “base” market is driven by rookie cards or autos of star players and not “influencers”. If you look at the tools that track cards, for baseball it is rookie or prospect stuff that gets the money. Ohtani is going to explode by the all star break.

Simply a pleasure to watch! It is fun rooting him on and collecting his cards. Will be fun to watch him and Vladdy battling it out for AL MVP. But I agree right now he should be the face of baseball and leading the AL MVP race.
