The problem is this team is basically the same as last year. But now we have Jason Kidd as the coach. Who has never been successful as a head coach.

Shooting 32% from the field. Taken 39 threes, even though they’ve been ice cold. Same as last year. If Luka doesn’t have a great game, they will lose every time. Porzingis sucks. THJ is hot and cold. Brunson is a contributor, but can only do so much. After that, they have absolutely nothing for offense.

I didn’t think he was a good hire and less than a game in I’m done with him. I still think the regression with Porzingis is coaching and utilization. He doesn’t fit what they run and it makes him look bad.

Can’t overlook how poorly the Mavs have drafted the last three years.

2019 - some nobody in the second round who they traded for Roby, who they then dumped on OKC for nothing

2020 - Josh Green, a bum who doesn’t play. And Tyrell Terry, a bum who isn’t even on the team anymore.

2021 - no picks

Can’t sign any free agents. Can’t draft worth #@#@#@#@. The team isn’t magically going to get better without new pieces being added.

Not disagreeing, but Luka kinda controls his destiny. In this day and age of player empowerment, imagine how many titles he can get if he's singularity focused on winning multiple titles above all else. After his contract expires, he can go form a superteam on a short term contract and bounce around for the best opportunity for titles.

Mavs have done nothing to put talent around this kid. This will be a long season and honestly a long tenure with this franchise unless something changes. For this reason, I was so surprised when doncic opened as the mvp favorite in Vegas. This team is going to be a bottom third team for a long time.

Bit of an over reaction based on the first game of the season, no? They haven't been a bottom 3rd since Lukas RC year. In fact they were in the top 3rd last year and the middle 3rd the year before that. So in each year since they drafted Luka they have done better than the year before.

As a life long Mavs fan, I can't even blame him for leaving and kind of hope he does.

This team is absolute trash. The centers were incredibly bad all of last year.. clear as day and they did absolutely nothing to shore it up.

They need a presence, not a presence that stands outside like Porzingis. Most teams will lose shooting 13 FTs. Mavs are going to get exposed by bigger, inside players that can score. If they don't have any outside shooting, they are done.

yeah, there are defo some overeaction but I think anyone who been following the Mavs all of last year will say the same thing.. Dwight and WCS is not the answer at center.

KP - i mean, we all prayed he would some how be better after a healthy offseason, but to me, nothing really changed. It is just one game but still can't take smaller players on the post and mid range and score on them at will.

Now with the coaching staff - they take the ball out of Luka hands more so... that's just great. Luka made some bad turnovers, but his centers sure didn't' help him on at least 3 of those turnovers.

On to the next but I would like to see Moses brown get some minutes and see if we can get Bullock more minutes with Luka.

What about after 148 games? Because that’s how many games this team has played. There are absolutely no meaningful differences in this roster compared to 2019. Except them trading away Seth Curry for that bum Richardson.

I guess it depends on how much of a difference you think a new coach makes.

I think Jason Kidd is a piece of #@#@#@#@. As a human and a coach. Rick needed to go, but Kidd is a massive downgrade.
