BGS will charge you up front when the order is logged.

I just got notification that my cards grade is available. I put the minimum grade as 10, does this mean it got 10 since it says “minimum grade”? This is my first submission, thanks!

It means that it did not reach minimum grade.

My first submission is completed at Josh, I would have a few questions from the experienced members.

The raw card prices and the PSA10 prices increased significantly since my submission, I was calculating with 1K value, but they are 4K-ish now. Is there any option at Josh to modify and request a special shipping like USPS/FedEx overnight? Does anyone have experience with something like this?

Send Josh an email. That is listed on his website.

Just getting back into hobby from when I was a kid. Completed one card to PsA before learning about and trying out BGS. Just sent them in and we’re delivered yesterday. How will I get notified if received and next steps? I created account online but there was nowhere on the paper to link or anything (under account it said if first time they would create one for you). Thanks in advance!!

Am I able to submit an auto with no-autos if they are the same level, or do autos need to be separate? Apologies if this was covered somewhere, but I couldn't find the answer. Thank you.

If you want auto grades, then, yes, separate. If you don't want auto grades, same.

More info needed:
1) Which grading company?
2) Were all the autographs from the manufacturer (inserted into packs or redemptions), not In person or Through the Mail?
3) Do you want the autos in your group to have the autograph graded or authenticated instead of just the card grade?

Got my first submission back and wondering if anything can be done about this? Can I send this back in to get reslabbed? I’m happy I got 10’s for this and AD, but that smudge is an eye sore and may affect price if I try to sell. Thanks in advance!

Jewcer,

Great write up. Could you touch on the effect print lines have on grades?

What tools do you need for grading besides a ruler, loupe, and scalpel?

Default Grading Decision

I’ve selected about 200 cards out of 3000 that are as clean and centered as it gets. IMO 90% of them should have a great chance to be a 10. My question is.... should I throw some cards in that I expect to grade 9 or lower as “dummy” cards in order to have a better chance of receiving more 10s on the clean cards I have. Or are the graders pretty fair in that they grade the cards accordingly and don’t feel like they HAVE to give a certain amount of 9s? It’s a little nerve racking because there’s no way they could know these were picked from such a large amount of cards and it could seem (to a grader) that I’m just sending in a bunch of stuff that’s not so curated. Any advice is very appreciated. Thanks

it's an effing joke that PSA rapes us with pricing and grading and they can't even figure out how to send back slabs clean without scratches ... good news is that yes if you send it back they will re slab it for ya.

Scenario: Send 20 cards to PSA value ultra modern. Say 10 grade PSA 9 and 10 grade PSA 10. The declared value of the 10's exceeds the $99 limit, but the 9's don't.

Would they only upcharge the 10's or all? And with no economy currently would the dv increase bump all the way to regular pricing ($50)?

Only the 10's might get upcharged. But if they are now worth like $200, there is a good chance you don't get upcharged. Typically they would only get upcharged if they are >$500. Of course that could change at some point, but so far, I've never heard of anyone getting upcharged on $200-300 cards.

And of course no one knows how the upcharges will work with economy not open currently. However, I would expect them to upcharge you at economy and not regular.

Can group submitters still submit to PSA with the economy option that is on hold for everyone else?

Yes, it appears they can, although the price has gone up to $25.
