Perhaps acuna has no idea what people are upset about... he don’t speak English

So Acuna mistook a HR for a long single?!?!?!?!? And Braves had a 3-1 lead at the time. A mistake already happened, but if he get thrown out at 2nd, it is a bigger mistake. I've seen some Stros' best players do it, it is too bad that it got magnify because Acuna is a superstar. Remember this is a 3-1 lead at the time. This could of been dealt behind closed door instead the Braves players crucify him courtesy of TMZ-type reporters. This could easily torn the team down.

He knows - he has a little bit of a hot dog in him but people are crushing the guy who had a big game, not the scrubs who blew it out of the bullpen.

This, bullpen has been an issue all year.

Most all players watch balls they think are HRs. It's easy to castrate someone after the fact when it happens to hit the top of the wall.
IMO most players only watch balls they KNOW are HRs. Big difference. That ball was questionable the instant it left Acuna’s bat — off-balance swing, opposite field, etc. When the ball is crushed and leaves no doubt, I can see a player occasionally admiring it. But to admire a soft, opposite field ball that may or may not clear the wall is just plain stupid.

Well said. Especially the last sentence.

Perhaps a little less talent might have served him well. Alphonso Soriano and Cano used to do it all the time. Soriano had all the talent in the world, Yanks got rid of him for Arod I know, the kid just never got it. Its about the team Ronnie.

It is amazing how baseball really is a game of inches. If that ball were to have gone over and he had 2 home runs on the night these boards would be singing a completely different tune. Thank god the nationals won on Tuesday and Juan Soto’s terrible baserunning and defense didn’t blow up like this haha.

Ultimately the bullpen lost the game for them. If he didn't famously get benched in August for dogging it, this wouldn't be a story. Hope he listens to his teammates this time.

While I completely agree with the hustle stuff, the woulda/coulda/shoulda insinuating he should have scored an extra run should be in the the same boat as would the bullpen have held the lead any better? I know vets worry but man, pitching was just as bad as Acuna's flaws.

And yes, the last 8 pages here call him a turd. Like I said, if he doesn't work out, I'm leaving baseball cards. Not spinning the wheel on another player again.

And this respect the game stuff irks me a bit. Our society lacks respect anyways including the guy in the oval office. Integrity of the game is the same bs used in football too. Don't believe in it anymore. Just a verbal sword wielded by people bent on guilt trips.

We'll see if Snit benches him.

Nope. Just read the Atlanta Journal Constitution about how his teammates feel. Pissing off all your teammates time and time again is a sure route to be traded some day. Like it or not, hes going to be getting plunked quite often by the opposing team. And these teammates will have to back him up on that issue. Or maybe they will just sit there and let him.fend for himself in a brawl. After all hes bigger than the team.

Oh??? What have they been saying?

Crazy as I don’t get to watch the games, mostly... just see the post-game stats.

There’s a reason his cards are double that of Soto.
Soto is that guy that has to work hard for everything he has because he doesn’t have as much talent. He’s a work truck.
Acuna is the guy that everything comes easy to because he has so much talent. He’s a Ferrari.
Give me the Ferrari

He’s 21. Hell, when I was 21 I was running up crazy bar tabs on my parents credit card and then skipping full days of classes. This KID, in the heat of the moment, watches his supposed home run just like 80% of the league, and gets roasted, lol.

By the way, for all of the haters, I will buy any and all of your Acuna cards for 85% of eBay. You’re saving eBay fees too. Of course I don’t want any of the cheap non auto sh!t, just the chrome autos. I will buy a bunch of the cheap stuff in huge lots though.

Surely you can see that it's not that simple.

So locked in that he zoned out and had no clue where the SS was when he got doubled off second.

...so you’d rather have an impractical player that looks good but will never get more than 5k miles driven and is broken down all the time???

...I’ll take the workhorse every time, as looks don’t win championships, hard work, consistency, and longevity do

Fortunately I don’t think Acuna is a Ferrari, or I’d dump him

Last time it was just Snit that got all over him.

This time many teammates called him out. To me that's a huge difference. If he doesn't learn this time then I believe there is a serious issue.

He got cocky...he's 20. It's the playoffs but that's the flare you get from him at any time. He plays with a lot of emotion period.

He didn't watch his own home run. He watched his own ball bounce off the wall. Had he not been watching, he would have been at second base.
