Odds are longer than I would have guessed on Gold (especially in hobby). Hope you get to expectation in the 2nd half of the breaks!

Update on EXPECTATIONS (perfect distribution) for 9 cases:

Rookie Auto Expectations through 9 cases (per player at even distribution) (5/4 mix) - 1.10
Prospect Auto Expectation through 9 cases - 2.07

Note 1: Rookies every year have a HUGE discrepancy in print run on top guys and lower guys. I've seen like 1 Yamamoto per case this year (no offense to Yamamoto or his family).

Note 2: Prospect this year (other than the guys who are on their 2nd Bowman auto) have NOT been obviously SP in the cases I've logged (up to around 70). There is some higher and lower - but all have had base and all within reasonable statistical variance. I've gotten them from a variety of sources.

Summary:

1. Other than those things I would have PREDICTED to be very likely SP, I have not noticed players to be SP for autos.

2. Thus far, I've not noticed any evidence of what people thought may happen with the delayed release (Topps ended up sending out some guys in early waves and some in later waves).

3. Every prospect has a base auto this year (first year in a while).

4. These are definitely sequenced base autos again. I've not seen any sequence with any numbered autos. But I have seen more split cases (esp. jumbo) than I remember with 2 different base runs.


We will see variance of course in 14 cases. That's not a huge sample. 0 autos right now wouldn't ben a huge shock. Either would 4.

Thanks...i sort of did my math by assuming a print run on the order of 15k cases, so if you had it for all 116 you should get 0.8% of the print run, or there about.

so 250 in the set x 50 each = 12,500, which means 100 total Gold papers across the 116 cases...roughly.

i think across 9 cases ive seen 3 (not 100% sure) so more like on a pace for 40

I know it doesnt actually make much difference but I have seen about 40 cases opened so far and nothing other than one purple. Lots of blue/yellow/gold/orange/red out there for ya
