I wonder if he still eavesdrops on his office mates when they talk about sexual stuff.

I broke down and had a Mountain Dew yesterday. I use to drink at least 4 cans every day, but yesterday was the first one I have had since January 18. I didn't like the taste anymore, or how it made me feel. I don't think I will have another one. Now if I could cut out the sweet tea I would be good. I'm down to a limit of two cups a day on it now and sugar free Gatorade, but mostly it's water for me these days.

Now down just about 30 lbs. Started snacking on, mainly, pineapple or bananas. Sticking mostly with flavored water. Absolutely have cut out a lot of sugary things. Just lost the desire/taste for it after a successful no soda July.

More energy in the morning, I think. Definitely seem to fall asleep a lot quicker/easier.

A couple guys I know just bought those Cirkul bottles and that's all they drink now. I think I'm going to pick one up as well. Basketball season is coming up and most days I will drink a coke or two, on the go. I'm hoping this will help curb that and shed a few unwanted lbs.

More energy and can run up the stairs faster.
Chicks also look at me more, I'm adding this as a ego boost for everyone. Sometime we just need the little things like this to motivate us.

So, I cut out Regular soda back in May and starting only having one diet soda a day for dinner. Switched to propel flavored water. Watched what I ate and exercised everyday. I was 220 lbs. around the end of April. Now I'm 170 lbs. Also helped that I'm a roofer and was getting tons of daily exercise while still doing my workouts after Feeling great and don't even miss regular soda. Never thought I'd lose anywhere close to 50lbs. !

^ That is great!

Checking in again to see if anyone else has seen results from this or was inspired to give it a shot and it's worked out. It's been a slower process after quickly dropping that 30 lbs. Now, down right about 50 lbs. as of this morning. I've noticed that mornings are a lot better from an energy standpoint.

I have had only Water and Ice Tea since June 1st, absolutely do not miss the soda, lemonade/AP or sweet juices at all. Mainly spring water or ice tea if we go out to eat.

Sprite is my achilles heel!

However, I have significantly cut down. I don’t keep any soda in the fridge, I’d honestly say I have a sprite probably 3-4 times a week. Which, is a major drop off to almost daily and multiple times a day that I used to do. Getting a bicycle has really helped, I have much more energy, and I don’t feel as sluggish as I used to.

Oddly enough, through all the trials and errors and searching for alternatives.. sparkling cider is what works for me when I need a kick or taste.

Super Bowl 2018 I was at a party. Don’t drink alcohol but used to drink Coke like crazy. I ate an entire pizza and drank 5 cokes during the game. Felt like a huge fatboy and incredibly sick. I was 227lbs at the time. Since that date I have yet to touch another soda. I weigh in at 195lbs and am quite content at 6’1. I can honestly say after about the first three weeks soda free I stopped missing and craving it. It would probably make me sick to drink it now.

I am going to bump this again, mainly because this was what got me started in the right direction back in July. While I did not lose any weight in July from no soda/way less sugar, it did lead me to changing my diet entirely since that was the next logical step to try. I still do have soda, but not nearly as much. Lots more flavored water and smaller meals. Now down 60+ lbs. and exercising daily. This challenge was so completely random, but thanks for posting it. Definitely gave me the kick I obviously needed to get going in the right direction from a healthy eating standpoint.

Good stuff. Keep at it. The hardest part is getting started and looks like you crushed that.

I've done pretty well at this over the past half year or so when I really started trying to cut down. I'm not completely cold turkey, I'll still have one if we go out to dinner or something, but at the peak I was having 1-2 cans a day and had to change that. I still haven't found something that I love as a replacement, but Bubly sparking water has been adequate enough as a replacement. I'm not down a ton of weight or anything, was pretty lean to begin with, but no caffeine headaches, no more reliance on the stuff, haven't had cravings in a long time, feels good

Lost some weight, my teeth feel better, my gut feels better. The syrup they use in that trash was really messing with my gut, teeth would bother me until I would brush when I would get home.

random update:

havent had any soda now for over a year, and I dont miss it. Mainly bumping this to share the drink that’s worked for me. Believe me I’ve tried a plethora of alternatives and nothing has stuck like this one. I dont work for them or affiliated in any way. Was reminiscing on this thread and figured I’d share. has a nice but subtle throat burn like the soda gives and tastes great. they use a long age fermentation so the cane sugar used doesnt remain.

Started pounding spindrift because Wegmans sparkling is too much of a drive. Putting away 6-7 cans a day.
