Was looking at bWAR and fWAR. It is amazing he is top 10 from the DH position. I did not think it was possible to win MVP as a DH...maybe Ohtani will do the impossible.

He's on pace for 425 Total Bases. I know "on-pace" will vary wildly throughout the season, but it's exciting to see.

Ohtani was throwing Sunday, so barring a setback, a simulated game may still be on track for September.

I am ecstatic Ohtani is off to an amazing start! And I am glad the trolls have nothing left to say and have moved onto other threads!

You would think at this point all the Ohtani doubters would have decided to start collecting because he is a unicorn and fun to follow.

I only PC a few other players, but is there any other player more fun/exciting to follow/root for?

At this point if you collect baseball cards why would anyone not collect Ohtani?

Hoping the Sho experts can help with a card question.

I am going through a few PSA submissions that I received back last year and I am curious about one of the cards.

I sent in a 2018 Topps Fire Hot Starts Gold Minted card. My card is numbered /17, but when I look on Beckett and eBay, no other Gold Minted cards are numbers /17.

Does anyone know what the difference is between the numbered and non-numbered Gold Minted cards?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Because for the what seems like millionth time, there are many fans of baseball who grew up rooting and collecting their own team and he's not on it. I'm not sure why this is such a difficult concept for you all to understand. If you want to collect him when he's not on your own team, be my guest, but don't insult others who don't.

I don't think I'd call that post insulting and it seemed more rhetorical from my point of view. They just see an exciting generational player as fun to collect

It's a transcendent buyback card. Basically stamped and rereleased for an event.

And yes, it's mislabeled. Send it back in.

It probably wasn't as much in that post, but a few weeks back during the height of the Ohtani/Ippei gambling discussion the same topic came up with the same individual and was more pronounced as if you weren't a fan of baseball or a true collector if you didn't collect him.

Collect what you want to collect and let others do the same. So I only have base Ohtani cards. He's not on my team and cards are expensive. If I made a million a year, maybe I'd branch out and buy a lot more cards from players like Trout, Ohtani, Harper, etc. that aren't on my favorite team.

Can agree there! I love my Ohtani cards, but I personally get more enjoyment collecting more than one player for sure.

I enjoy collecting other players until they rub up on steroid cream or are revealed as pedos. I am open to collecting other players, but I've been burned, so I'm taking a break and sticking with baseball Buddha until my heart is healed.
