I was reading through the ~20 pages I missed from last night...saw nothing but Cam complaining about the officials, skipped forward ten pages and saw nothing but pingbling23 complaining about the officials and flopping...

I agree, took away 2 points from the Spurs and swung the Spurs run.

Easy call for Bosh, sucks for the Spurs

Its now comes down to best of 3, and a must win for spurs or else its for the kill....
Miami got homecourt back.
Sundays game is so crucial for both teams but more so for the spurs.

Was just reading this. And I need help understanding - is a fine for a flop an admission that a foul shouldn't have been called, or that it was a foul but it was oversold unnecessarily?

They shouldn't fine the players, they should fine the refs.

I bet flopping stops lol

The Key to Wade playing well is that he didn't dive on the floor when he missed a shot or layup.

Parker was though, they swapped places

Heat flopping fines in playoffs - 2
Spurs flopping fines in playoffs - 0

$10 to try and make a couple of crucial plays is nothing! I can't wait for the day the rules changes to suspend them instead of fine.

And no, it shouldn't be the refs fault. They can't see every bit if contact, so they sometimes have to use the fall as a way if knowing when someone was pushed! If they take away the flopping, it will be easier for the refs to get it right!

Another interesting question. This came about because of Wade, but I know a LOT of players in the league do it.

But that move where they pump fake then jump into the defensive player to draw a foul. Personally I don't view it much different to flopping. It is intentional contact instigated by the offensive player and most times, they are jumping out, which is not typical of their shooting action.

I think it should be changed to a foul call against the offensive player if they are clearly jumping at the player instead of their normal shooting jump!

What do you think?

Nope, the defensive player has to be disciplined to stay down.
Its the difference between a good defender vs a bad one. IMO

Didn't they change the rule to say that's no longer a defensive foul?

They changed it to prevent directly sideways jumping I believe, but not forward or on the diagonal!

If you can get the defender in the air, I think its fair to be able to force contact, how ever, there is a big difference in jumping into a player from 3 feet away to jumping into a player that's going to hit you anyway..

That is what I am talking about! The ones where people go well out of their way to hit the defender. Like Wade does.

I did notice that he did it in game 3 and the ref refused to call it and he got called for a travel, but it gets given too often

Yeah I get ya, but putting ANYTHING in the refs hands to make the decision on where the line is to be drawn, well its never going to be called consistently!

Wade is one crafty player, his rhythm is what makes him get people off balance...
I don't think he shouldn't be rewarded by getting people in the air...
He's not as bad as some that jump a mile to get the contact...

He's border line...
To close to call really

As in my previous post, I don't think the officials have been bad this series. I do, however, find it very interesting that you think the foul calls have been great when Miami has been called for 19 (or 33%) more fouls than San Antonio and San Antonio has attempted 24 (or 41%) more free throws than Miami.

I thought you believed these things should be very even? You claim you are not against Miami, so I'm interested to hear your theory on what the NBA is doing to help San Antonio in this series. Will you please provide that theory?

For the record, I dont believe there is a problem this series, but you have been adamant that the box scores should be even if there wasn't any impropriety occurring.
