Yeah, Boxes are nice. They do leave a lot of cardboard bits on the cards but easily cleaned.

There were issues in the beginning with the cards on some of the edges, and I have seen some have scuffs, this was earlier on.

I do prefer PSA packaging better, Granted mine are picked up from them directly.

Looks like they updated their turn around times (I think that happens every Friday). Quite shocked, I am getting the impression that submissions are at a low. Is there anybody tracking them like PSA now that the pop report is live?

Economy $20 25 days
Bulk $12 45 days

The Economy is cheaper and likely faster than SGC now or equal price if you include subs. Bulk down to under two months!!!

I am waiting for cheaper prices and quicker turnaround times. Desperation for submissions will help the consumer. Price drop will be soon.

And 25 days is on the high end from what I've experienced recently. Most of the time you're getting them shipped in 10-15 days.

Gemrate on twitter is tracking CSG now: https://twitter.com/gemrate

Last week CSG was #2 in cards graded:

Thanks Kon Jelly, looks like SGC and CSG will be duking it out. I wouldn't be surprised they cannibalize each other much more than taking market share away from PSA. Somebody has to the dominant "Not PSA" option.

Discodanmann - from the data, CSG is going to need to blink first. From Peter's interviews , SGC submissions are still really strong. They might actually be at their comfortable run rate. CSG will be the one that needs to drop price to get their submissions back up. Maybe they go back to $8 on the bulk. I would prefer a drop in the subgrade upcharge.

If they made subgrades $5-$7 I think that would be a sweet spot for them.

Right now their is a social media buzz about SGC and they are extremely popular in the YouTube world. CSG will have a rough time for the next three months. There is really no positivity with them right now. People forget, SGC was in a similar place in 2020 and early 2021. They couldn't meet their guaranteed turnaround times in 2020 and people got angry! It took over 6 months for people to start trusting them again. After a year plus now, most people forgot about the rough 2020 SGC had.

I think CSG is still in the angry customer phase right now. People that submitted with them expected higher grades and some people don't even understand that a 9.5 in Gem Mint. There are many people waiting for different labels and their labels without subgrades are mocked quite a bit. I personally won't buy a slab without subgrades. Not because I like subgrades or even care for them, but that empty white space bothers me!

As PSA opens up it will be very interesting to see how pricing and turnaround times change with PSA/SGC/CSG and how quickly HGA goes out of business. I agree that with CSG almost completely caught up and less popular than SGC right now, they will be the first one to drop prices. If they get to $8 a card, it will be interesting to see how that changes SGC submissions. CSG and SGC are both close, if not over, 100,000 cards graded a month each. If they are both caught up and BGS is caught up as well, even with PSA still at $50 limited, we will see price wars.

If I could get a card graded for $15 with subgrades I would probably submit a few. If they have $8 without subgrades and have a smaller label and no sea of white space, I would send a lot to them!

I remember their rough 2020. My rep and the guy that picked up their mail were fired a few weeks after $20k of my cards were stolen. USPS refused my claim saying SGC had them.

I think your doomsday comments about CSG are more projection than reality. You might be an angry CSG customer, but that doesn’t mean that most or even many are.

What doomsday comments did I say about CSG? I just said that they will be reducing prices to get submissions, nothing about them going out of business. The negativity about CSG is also real right now for sports cards. Find me one YouTuber with over 1000 subscribers that is painting CSG is a positive light? I deal with reality in all my posts. I just don't make up nonsense. Here is the only video about CSG from the week with over 1000 subscribers. Not much positivity. Definite bias because he is a bulk SGC submitter, but this is the appearance of CSG on media platforms.

Bobbles and Ballcards (2.24 K suscribers) - Bashes CSG continuously through his experience. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdcAjrVvTYM

Even if 90% of customers are happy with CSG, which they are not, they are going to be hurting for submissions unless a big price drop happens. I can give you about 50 YouTube links about people mocking CSG on YouTube, can you give me one CSG YouTuber promoting CSG? Just one link will be fine for me.

I don’t really care what any YouTuber has to say about the hobby. I’m not going to pretend they’re experts or even know what they’re talking about. The vast majority of them will be moving on to the next big thing when the card bubble bursts.

They don't know anything and either does 95% of people that grade. This is all about the narrative that is out there. Card grading is a popularity contest and all about ROI for people. CSG's financial future depends on positive acceptance by the idiots on YouTube complaining about getting a CSG 9.5 and thinking it should be a CSG 10 because it is "pack fresh." SGC is doing extremely well right now because all the flippers, pumpers, and YouTube personalities are all heaping praise on SGC right now.

Must be someone you suscribed to or connected to someone else with the YouTube algorithm. That 6-month year old video didn't show up for me when I typed CSG reveal.

This is what video came up first for me. This is the optics out there. Quote from the video. "let's be tough and piss off every single customer we've got"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lIfrrLLGULc

I think it is important for a CSG to build relationships in the social media community. They need to change the narrative and people need to understand their damn grading scale and understand to not bitch when they get a CSG 9. SGC people accept a 9.5 better than CSG people accept a 9. They are about the same grade.

Anyone else surprised at how many cards CSG is grading? I would have thought SGC would be second. And how about how few Becket is grading? WtF?

Another flawless CSG experience. Received 3/2, shipped 3/8. 3 cards.

Express. Although the next one I'm sending will be bulk, let's see what the turnaround time is on that.

No that's just grading numbers based on changes in the pop report.

Damn, those are some bangers. And if I was buying, I would be able to buy knowing that those cards are truly in amazing condition. Those are really sick.

It's just the way Topps refers to them on redemptions.

Submitted my first two cards ever with them last Saturday at the Culture Collision show in Atlanta and they just popped on their site. Stoked and can’t wait to have them in hand. I DO wish I would’ve ponied up the few extra bucks for the subs on the Chris Paul but glad I did on the Acuña
