Good to know it's possible, but you're gonna have to buy a crap ton of Series 2 retail to hit an SSP Acuna. Unless you can get a ton of it for CHEAP--(highly unlikely), you're better off buying the Bat Down single here--as a single--even at current prices, would cost you about a 10th of what enough sealed retail product you'd have to buy to pull one. The consolation prize is you'll have a ton of Ohtani RC's, but aside from that there's VERY little value in 2018 Series 2 retail to recoup the losses. If they were inserted to retail cases like they were hobby, it'd be a different story, but that's a very high-cost, extremely low shot at a reward chase.

How much of that vintage was being sold by guys over 50 tho? As a 30 year old guy, I don’t know anyone in the hobby around my age who is building a vintage collection. We can debate this to death (I’m sure it has been). The only reason I go to the big Chicago shows is to sell stuff without eBay fees and sell cards that won’t Gem so I don’t have to deal with returns.

correct. personally, I am fully aware. For the record, the s2 sp lands about 1 MAYBE 2 per hobby or jumbo case. Retail? I have no idea.

Anyone that watches most Acuna ABs can see he often gets beat on inside pitches. He is jammed quite regularly. Pitchers are beginning to work him inside more and it is overall effective on getting him out.

He is a better breaking ball hitter than he is a fastball hitter in general.

Check your Walmart. They started putting out fat packs of S2 last week for like $3.98.

i went to walmart yesterday and must have left like 10 s2 fat packs. I just feel the changes are slim to none. Maybe im wrong.

I think they'll do fine long term also. Thing with them is that thicker cards have not fared too well in Baseball. I think many Baseball collectors just don't find them desirable.

I kept telling myself that once the Bat Down PSA 10’s got to $1,000 I’d sell one of mine. (2 were pulled in the case I bought at release and another I bought for $19 when he was on the IL last spring).

I said the same thing. I just put mine up on eBay for like $1,400 just in case that auction goes wild tonight and some rich person wants mine. I love the card and think it has a great future but if I can make $1k profit in like 3 months from a card, I’m taking that all day. Also glad I bought tons of host us250 ungraded for less than $5. Now if only Soto’s prices can do the same.

Don't do it. I sold two gem mint and two pristine bat downs because I thought I did not need them since I have a bat down parallel but ended up purchasing two gem mint bat down again yesterday and today.

EDIT: Looking back I should have kept one of my Pristine but I was able to get two gem mints (one true gem) for pretty much the same price I sold the last pristine for.

Yup, never a bad idea to lock in profits (as well as let others join the Acuna party) but man it will be tough if Acuna finishes the season strong. The 698 is such a key card and with a strong finish demand will be at an all-time high for the Bat Down.
