Mickey Mouse set coming to ePack 9/16/20 - Page 7

I’ve been buying a box or two (or 3!!) a week for awhile now and pulled this cool cut just now. Fun cut with Goofy standing on his head and the speech in his text bubble showing upside down. They could have cropped it a bit better but still an A+ cut. Always looking for cool cuts in ePack trades to either my main finfangfan account or my comic book heavy finfangfomics account!

Still having a lot of fun collecting this set. I had some solid sales during Turkey week and used the credit to pick up some fun cuts. Here is one I picked up this morning…

These are great. That Goofy upside down speech bubble is funny.

UD did a great job with these cuts (not always a given with cut sets).

I would imagine Disney wouldn’t approve too many images of Mickey Mouse holding a Shotgun for merchandise/cards/comics published in the 2020’s which makes this card back of a comic cut from issue 56 (a comic printed in the 1950’s) stand out…

Issue 104 is a great issue with a lot of cool underwater cuts that uniquely stand out from the other issue cuts. Love this Goofy I recently got on COMC…

I think I pulled the 999/999 of this one… judges? EDIT: now when I look at it again looks like it could be 993/999… darn potato scans!

And I pulled this nice Mickey cut from same box….

In other news, I’m closing in on another cover cut achievement but will likely be a couple weeks since trading is slim and I will likely have to get there on my own through box buys.

The only card left on my “want” list was a Pluto Comic Cover…but someone hare has been grabbing them all…

Finally came across one and it came with some very nice/well curated cuts. I think I can put this set to bed now. I’ll post them all together when they are in hand. Thanks to the group with helping me build this little collection!

So, my recent purchase arrived today with the white whale I was chasing…Pluto Cover Cuts. Here’s a pick of the lot, and my Cover set featuring every main character that appeared on the covers of this run (Mickey, Goofy, Pluto and one of Mickeys nephews. Minnie was on one cover but in the background and hard to spot. Bummer none of the ducks made any of these covers). I still have 3 cards to ship from COMC to finish the last 2 missing cards on the mini-master checklist. I’ll post the full collection tomorrow. Just love this set!

So, here is my “complete set”. One card from each comic book on the checklist and one cover for each of the main characters that appeared on a cover for this run…

I ended up with a lot of dupes. If I came across a really nice cut (unique character, cool/funny scene), I would get it. These are especially true for Donald/Daisy (who only appeared in shorts stories at the back of two issues) and Pluto (who was in most issues, but would not have many panels exclusive to him). A few of these are still at COMC. I might pick up 3 more to finish the page, but only if I can find something really unique (or Donald/Daisy/Pluto cuts). Nothing beats vintage hand drawn comic books. I wish Topps would release something like this in a Star Wars set…

…and just one more. I went thru everything currently on COMC and only found one interesting cut. I remember seeing it and loving it on epack, but could never work out a trade. I would still love to add 2 more Donald or Pluto cuts.

Got another PSA cover slab back… this is the last achievement I made back at end of October. Here we are 3 months later and I am super close to another cover achievement (1 green and 5 blue). Just need to trade around a green for the green and blues for the 5 blues.

EDIT: just noticed they used a different name for insert on this one than the last 2… just calling the one above “Comic Covers”… whereas my 2 previous are called “Comic Cut Achievements” as seen below.

I had some pretty strong COMC sales this week so I sprang for this Cover Cut to enter the weekend.

Hopefully by the end of the weekend I will have traded for the final few cards I need to make another cover achievement on my own.

Nice! But I thought you were trying to stay away from Goofy? Hope you were able to get a deal on that one since the price seemed a little steep but certainly a great cut! Hope you get a nice Pluto cover with your next achievement!

lol… I like The Goof. I just think he is overrepresented in the Mickey cuts. So I try to primarily get cuts of Mickey and/or the other characters but I also have quite a lot of Goofy.

Plus, while the other cover cut that is up on COMC is of Mickey, I already have that one. It’s a great one tho.

Traded for 3 cuts today while watching the Ravens/KC debacle. Trades during football games are pretty strong as chat is pretty active. Really love the Moby Fred!

EDIT: and ended up picking up these two as well from same seller. Love the Goofy on all fours and Minnie throwing object at Mickey. Fun cuts!

I’m now up to 100 slabs (counting completed and those in process) so I am slowing down a bit. Basically just looking for ones that stand out from ones I already own. For example, this is a fun one I picked up today…

I still also buy a box or 2 each week on ePack but I’m on a bit of a green base and comic cut drought… last 5 boxes haven’t had either. I was on a roll there for awhile in the other direction. The ePack gods giveth and taketh I guess.

Yeah… that issue has a lot of great cuts with that little dog and the lion. I picked this one up a couple of weeks ago…

I love this set. I think the last year+ of Marvel sets are largely overpriced garbage so not much that interests me with the “new” stuff. It’s nice that this one’s lasting so long on ePack. Based on achievements still available it will probably be around for another 3-5 years unless they bogo it.
