Oh well.
Comic cuts could be fun if they get old Comics and Stories comics. I’d love to get a Carl Barks duck comic cut! Although I’m guessing it will be from more modern comics. |
I’m not a fan of tiered base sets. Or packs with just three cards. Or digital exclusives.
Otherwise, this sounds like a neat set. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Needs sketches.

This was an interesting Mickey as Spider-Man cut from the Marvel set. Gotta say price point is really going to determine how many of these sell. Lion King seems to be a very slow mover. Princesses had a huge initial rush and race to the bottom, but has cooled off since then. Whenever they go on BOGO sale, we'll see if the demand comes back or if those sets are already DOA. |
People are guesstimating $119 per box on the ePack boards but I am hoping for $89. Although the people pointing out the higher price point mention 3 cards per pack usually means a premier (ie higher priced product).
It will be interesting to see how UD is able to market this set to Disneyana collectors that would not be aware of it. The UD social media employee will earn their paycheck on this one. UD did little to bring in the Overwatch base to its OWL set which basically defeated the purpose of acquiring the license. |
I’d be in if they were regular packs.

It does say "vintage" Mickey Mouse comics. I wish they'd just revive and expand on the Disney Treasures sets. |
It does say "vintage" Mickey Mouse comics.
I wish they'd just revive and expand on the Disney Treasures sets.
We will see how far back the cuts go. The recent Marvel 80th set didn’t have any golden age comic cuts so I’m not expecting anything going too far back. |
They should have done autographs cuts of some of the key Disney animators...the Nine Old Men at a minimum, along with some of the other Disney Legends.
I can see the hesitation in acquiring Walt Disney signatures...but there are dozens of great signatures that could have been in this. |
So much potential with the Disney sets, but they just fall flat.

Absolutely this was a miss. These aren't crazy tough signatures either, and would have really honored the legacy and influence of Disney. |
The thing with Disney comics is that they have always had a ton of reprints. When it comes to interior cuts, you could have a Barks story from the 50s but grab identical cuts from the 60s, 70s, or 80s from all the times those stories were reprinted buy Gold Key and Whitman.
Of course, getting Barks duck cuts is probably wishful thinking in a Mickey Mouse set. I would expect mainly cuts of Mickey. I still want a Duck set. The Duck comics have always been more popular than Mickey comics, so these make more sense anyway. Considering you can get stacks of golden age and silver age Disney comics for a couple bucks an issue, cuts would be pretty cheap to do. Way cheaper than gold/silver Marvel cuts. I've got hundreds of gold/silver duck comics and the only ones I paid more than 50 cents or a dollar for are the few keys, like the Four Color 386 (Uncle Scrooge #1). I bought all the Gladstone reprints for my daughter for 25-50 cents a book, but she has no interest in reading them, unfortunately. She's only into manga and video game comics like Sonic. |
I might pick up a couple of these on Comc once the epack crowd pump and dump, im a fan of the characters so im sure there will be a few images that are worth picking up

Great looking set and only $5.99 a pack. Got a great cut in my box

UD knocked this one out of the park... the achievement cover cuts look neat too.

With that being a cut, is this still just an ecard..or does t become a physical card? (sorry I'm totally out of touch with the epack stuff as I dont mind the electronic cards..but I want my physical ones too) |
All of the cards in this set are real / physical cards.

All cards in the Mickey packs are physical so all can be transferred to COMC or mailed to you. But some ePack products do contain digital cards... just not Mickey. |
