Depends who you ask. If it's one of the guys who has a hoard of these in his basement as a retirement fund, you'll get the line that "In 5 years these will be $34 a piece and YES you are wrong and PROFITZZZ cause I can make 38 cents on each one!"

If you ask anyone else...yeah last year's stunk, as was predicted by many on here.

That being said, I was a naysayer last year, but I do believe this year's with a better checklist will be much improved and has more room to grow. I think its safe to assume the regular Bowman packs will be junk again, no need for Topps to actually put real packs in there since everyone buys these anyways, so the question is how much will people pay for Mega packs?

I say $20 a pack is reasonable, so these could be $45 boxes.

Right on. Yes, it is fair to assume the Bowman packs will be just base and chrome.

'17 had the sneak Ohtani addition, which is why it still sells pretty decent. Plus Acuna, Senzel, Judge "Rookie" insert, etc. I don't think '19 will be better than '17, imo.

I am anxious to see is how many different colors they have this year. While the checklist was weak last year, I thought the cards with the solid borders made the color refractors pop. I wish they had used last years design in 2017

17' was a perfect storm with Ohtani.

More colors means more boxes and means its more watered down.........I personally don't want that.

I am not saying I want a ton of colors. Just curious to see which ones they will have. Last year They added gold which I did think was a nice addition. Overall 5 colors along with a base was plenty IMO.

Black, Orange, Gold, Green, Purple.


As for the price. When the Bowman Hangers are now only 2 packs for 9.99 + Camo and single packs are $4. We should have known it was coming. To me the $4 for a base retail pack is absurd in itself

I looked at both and still think '17 will outshine this year's...but I've been wrong before, just my opinion. The Ohtani factor and Judge Mega RC inserts itself will be tough to beat. Add in Acuna, a handful of others, first run of a product and a lower production run most likely and '17 will be tough to top.

They can make as much as that want. 2019 will still be better.

Raw Acuna Mega isn’t even a $50 card. Ohtani isn’t even a $100 card. They don’t have autos. This has Wander, Vlad, Beer (1st), Bart, Nova (1st), and Eloy on the base auto checklist.

This set is unreal. I will rip every box I can at MSRP, and will hoard this stuff like no other if the secondary market price is right.

I agree on the 2019 checklist being stacked. But wanted to note that Beer and Nova will likely not have the "1st" on the card, leaving that for Bowman Chrome (a la Florial last year). Which will depress the value of those cards a bit.
