Mike Fish is the best baseball player in 2021 and the hobby leader in 2021 too.

Trout was one of 4 players who I would include for POTM in the AL. JD, Vladimir JR and Buxton. Then Ohtani. ( Coming from somebody who is Non Colluded ). Yeah.
Shows how special Trout is... 55 home runs behind the great Ryan Howard. There's no way Trout can match 2006-2011 Howard anyway. He's just a compiler with low ceiling. Will never break any meaningful records so who cares. |

You’re right. He’s just the best player the past 10 years and no one is close. Including Ryan Howard. Trout will be a HOF 1st ballot, while Howard will be affectionately known as a fan favorite. And BTW the best player label comes from his peers, not just in here. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Let’s also compare these stats with the two since Howard is your measuring stick... Based on plate appearances: 6531. 5607 Howard. Trout Ks 1843. 1198 BBs 709. 853 OBP .343. .419 SLG .515. .586 RBI 1194. 814 HR 382. 309 OPS .859. 1.005 OPS+ 125. 177 2B 277. 268 3B 21. 48 H 1475. 1413 R 848. 964 TB 2940. 2704 ROY. ROY 3x AS. 8x AS 1x SS. 7x SS 1x MVP. 3x MVP So your only stat is like everyone else, Trout doesn’t have a WS ring. So I guess Ryan Howard is better than Ted Williams too? Willams didn’t get a ring and never hit 50 HR, in fact only hit 40+ once. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

he's right though, Howard is overlooked. Tony Gwynn doesn't have a ring and only hit more than 15 HR in a season twice (He also has 0 MVP awards). Howard was robbed! Last edited by goldeneye007; 05-02-2021 at 11:49 PM. |

Trout is the measuring stick any player would hope to measure up to in the current generation. He's not anywhere done pushing every goal post further with his amazing 2021 stats. There is no point arguing, unless you want to delegate it to championships, in which a single player has no determination.

Howard isn’t overlooked... he finished his career with 14.7 WAR. Trout had dis first full year and a half. Adam Dunn hit 40+ HR 6x and had more WAR than Howard. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

14.7 for Ryan Howard's career is a joke. WAR overrates on base for big guys and wildly underrates driving in runs.

Moe Howard was one of the best hitters ever. Just ask Larry and Curly.

Ryan Howard had a solid MVP Caliber 2 Season Window with a 3-4 Season Overall All Star Window. Can't take that away and was a monster in the middle of the Philly lineup during that window. However, Trout is now going on a 11+ Season MVP & All Star run that is only done by the elite of the elite over 100+ years of baseball.

That’s a fair assessment. I’m not saying Howard wasn’t great for the 3-4 years, he was. It’s just silly to use Howard as a comparison against Trout because he hit 50 HR one time. Brady Anderson did too as did Luis Gonzalez. Gonzalez had the GW hit off arguably the best closer in history and ended the Yankees dynasty in 2001, so I guess he’s better than Trout too? Please. Yogi Berra has the most WS rings and MVPs to boot, on a tremendous Yankees team at that time, yet no one considers him a top 10 player of all-time. Saying a player has a ring or more and a solid career doesn’t make him better than Trout. I’m not saying Trout is the best to ever play the game, but if he finishes his career on the path he’s on, it’s fair to say he would be in that conversation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
