Color Out of Space was actually pretty great. Especially when it leaned into the practical John Carpenter style effects. The burst of CGI at the end didn’t ruin anything; but it was definitely a break with the earlier creepier vibes.

I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Really enjoyed this movie. What a great conversational piece. It's a great depiction of what's going on today with a top down mentality. Thoroughly enjoyed it and made for a great conversation afterward.

100% recommend anyone to watch this.

True Fiction.

Solid movie. Great psychological twists along the way. Nothing truly ground breaking, but very high production value and above average acting.

Kind of a throw back here, but one of my favorite horror movies of all time is Pathology.

If anyone gets the chance to watch it, I recommend it.

In my opinion, essentially if the 1% would share their wealth with the people below them, you would start to see a trickle down effect of people passing it on, leaving no one left to be hungry or just trying to get by.

Unfortunately, greed and selfishness come into play where when you're at the top you could not care less about the people below you which leads to famine and death.

It pretty much reminds me of the graphic I once saw of some birds sitting on different levels of a telephone pole. At the top of the pole is the owner, right below him is the CEO's and below them is the middle managers and then below them is the regular employees.

The top bird sh*ts on everyone below them and then the next bird sh*ts on the people below them and so forth and so on. So when the top bird looks down all he sees are pieces of sh*t while the bottom people look up all they see are as$holes.

Hence when in the movie, the main character tells the people below them to only eat what is laid out for them or he will sh*t on their food, it starts to work, but when the lady tells him now we just need to get the people above us to do the same and he says in return, "That won't happen.....because I can't sh*t upwards."

Platform was a bit heavy handed with the social commentary, but I thought it was excellent. Didn't love the ending though.

This is disappointing. The first episode had me stoked to get into the rest of the season. I'll still give it a shot.

The Dead Center was very meh. It more like an episode of Channel Zero, but not even that good.

I loved the original version. The only problem I had with it was the kid who played the female lead's brother. That voice was enough to make me strangle him.

I got all that . but I just don't need to see a movie with all that repetitiveness . te platform comes down they eat , repeat , etc.etc. then the end was lame . it's nothing I would watch again .

If you are a fan of old, really bad B&W horror movies (I love these things) then the following can be watched, for free on Youtube.

The Giant Claw
Fiend Without a Face
Old Dark House

Plus The Crater Lake Monster. That one isn't B&W but it's a classic!

OK, this thread needs some traffic.

Watched "Dark was the Night" yesterday. Good "creature" movie with a very dark atmosphere.

Have had a lot of time to watch movies lately, here are some thoughts on ones from the past few days.

Satanic Panic - Hidden gem IMO, it's a horror comedy which are typically not good but I really like this one. 9/10

Summer of 84 - More of a thriller/mystery than an outright horror movie. Slow burner, but I dug it. If you are a fan of Stranger Things, its very much that vibe. 8/10

I See You - Started off as a not interesting by-the-book thriller where the biggest mystery for me being whats up with Helen Hunt's face? Anyways, 30-45 minutes in, it really picks up and things come together. First 30 minutes, 2/10, last half of movie 8/10

What streaming services or channels are these on? I'd like to give Satanic Panic a try.

I See You is "free" if you have Prime Video. Not sure about the others.

All 3 are on Prime/Shudder. BTW, for $5 a month, I hope everyone participating in this thread has Shudder.

Lately, I just watch the news each day, scares the **** out of me.

But seriously, Shudder, mentioned just above, is a great platform for horror content.
I would think the promo code FRIGHTRAGS would still work and it's good for a free month to try it out.
