If the Braves are willing to spend money, then that's also a great location, but they've shown no sign of going after the big free agents. Liberty Media is too focused on printing money with F1.

Definitely agree they’re not into spending big money but what a time to do it with all these young stars locked up for a long time.

I can dream…..

Default Long time thread lurker...

I had a deep thought but my card pic wouldn't post. So, I shall digress.

Nah, I personally hate looking at a card in a slab. I do have some graded stuff that I sent in, just some base and non numbered inserts that looked like a 10 to me but 98% of my cards are ungraded. My two best Ohtanis are graded though. A Black that I was sure would 10(it did), and a dual auto that I had to buy graded because it was too rare to wait for another copy with sigs as nice

It's that familiar time of year where the games are meaningless and the only relevant guy on the field is the 6'4 Asian guy!

Just so. I wonder how Shohei feels about 5 or 6 quality guys on his team being cut for nothing but $7 million in salary savings.

It pains me to say it, but the 6'4 Asian guy needs to get the heck out of that uniform.

Ok folks, I pulled this bad boy back in 2018 and was fortunate enough to get a BGS 10. I go back and forth about selling (I've turned down a few significant offers over the years), but I am considering moving it now. I could be wrong, but I imagine it's the highest grade low number auto of his. It's #'d 2/5. That said, has anyone used Goldin before? Any thoughts on your experience? Also, I legit have no idea on value but I imagine the floor right now is 50k.
As a side note, I have a Topps Chrome rookie auto BGS 9.5 of his that I intend to PC for life. This one is just becoming too big for me to justify holding. I may create a separate post for this, but I figured I would start in my favorite thread.
Open to any and all thoughts. Thanks all!

It's a very nice card but the sticker will limit it. 50K would be a fantastic price, especially after this downturn. Think an orange 9 did 10K the other day. It's easy to add random multipliers but it just doesn't hold true for five figure+ cards. The stadium 1/1 RC super auto barely broke $20K (also sticker). Pristines also don't get the premium they used to anymore.

I could see that. The stuff on Goldin ending tomorrow, which went live after the injury, lead me to think 50 is the floor. I could be wrong obviously.

I second this. Great first move. Have some influencer hand you cash. If not bring it back home with you and weigh the options.

You should definitely get some feelers out there for price, but a lot of high end buyers don't do stickers. Your best bet, honestly, is looking for an eager suitor that is new to the hobby and has a bunch of cash. There are less, but there are definitely still some fools running about.

Was happy to go to the Phillies game tonight and got to see a great game with a Philly win and see Ohtani live for the first time. The fans loved watching him play!

While I agree with the general disdain for sticker autos, I will say - if you're going to buy a sticker auto, this is a good one to have. Beautiful auto on the sticker, BGS 10/10, and that red just pops. Yes it's the Update Pitching which is the least desirable out of the 3 Topps Chrome RCs from 2018, and yes it's in a darn BGS slab, but darn that's a nice high end Ohtani RC Auto regardless! Well done to the owner for holding so long.

It is a VERY nice card. No complaints from me on your assessment.

What other player currently would still be playing, even as a DH, with a torn UCL? Zero! He is on a mission and in September, non-playoff teams will pitch to him. He only needs to square up 6 more and then shut it down. 50/100/.300/10/100 will do.
