Can someone drop an Amazon link to the mailers you use? Do these work?

I'm going to sell some cheaper stuff next week and want to start using this option to see if it boosts sales of the $1-5 stuff. Charge what, $1, for shipping to cover the cost of the mailer and postage. That sound about right?

Those should work, I use a different brand but same type of mailer and price point.

No, those won't work. They are rigid and they are non-machinable. You will have to pay the non-machinable rate and the non-machinable items don't go through the machines, so they won't be scanning your bar-code.

I just use plain white envelopes you can get for 1.00 a box. I charge 1.50, but I charge that no matter if the item is 1.00 or 100.00.

I do use these for postcards and they could work on for the cards they are not very rigid but are bigger and sturdier than the standard PWE

Also rigid can get upgraded by some offices to first class parcel or even priority.

This is what I use. I don't even know that they are security envelopes, just plain ol' PWE. I've found the cheapest place to get these is the dollar store. It's $1 for 80.

They hide the contents so you cannot see from the outside.

Well I'll be damned. This prompted me to look actually look at the package of my envelopes and they are indeed security envelopes.

I've wondered how much people make on a .99 with free shipping listing. I charge shipping, so can't comment on what I would make.

This is just an estimate, but if they are selling paper base and can get 5 in an envelope they could be making after fees, supplies and shipping cost $3.25 and five ten cent cards.

For sure you make more when you sell more...I was just wondering about a single card at .99 and free shipping.

I would think you lose money - fees alone are .43 and then a stamp or the standard envelope label. Maybe it's more of a loss leader type situation.

On a single card for 99˘ you're going to about break even.

The key is how many do you put in the average envelope? As noted above, if you can average 5 per envelope you're looking at $3.25 clear. It's probably not quite that good because if you're averaging 5 cards per envelope you're probably going to have some that get so bulky they have to be shipped in a bubble mailer.

Here's how it breaks down.
1 card=$0
2 cards=70˘
3 cards=$1.55
4 cards=$2.40
5 cards=$3.25

It's basically 85˘ per card from that point forward. You'll have a dip when you have to go from 73˘ to 93˘ shipping and a big dip when you have to go to bubble mailer.

Like I said I can do 5 paper base standard envelope and 4 chrome. I will not got more than that in a SE. Also more of what I am selling that way if the buyer does buy a good amount of bulk I have no problem going to a BBL Mailer. I mean most of those that have gone that way were 10 cent cards at a show so im happy to get rid of the bulk at a profit higher than 10 cents. Most of that profit is usually still about 50 cents a card. win for me either way.

So got a CC dispute on a SE Item will also add this clown to my BBL

Buyer on EBAY hales_cards has opened a dispute outside of eBay about an order that was placed on Oct 27, 2021. This means the buyer has disputed a charge directly with their payment provider. They are requesting $9.45 back and the reason for this dispute is that the buyer did not recognize the transaction. Will also place this one in my track scammer page on feedback forum.

I had a card arrive from a high volume seller in a bubble mailer using a Standard Envelope label. They charged me $3.99. Not sure how I feel about this...

Those are the envelopes I use for eBay SE and so far have not had any issues/problems. I would guess I have sent out around 300 or so using this envelope. But I charge $1.50 and always put down 3 ounces for the weight of the envelope.

Is it me or does it seem a lot more of these are not scanning in as of late? It's unfortunate too because all it says is tracking number provided which means if a claim is made I can't collect the insurance. Luckily most buyers are honest or they see there's a tracking number on the package and don't go for it.

I'm not sure this is correct, but I've not had to put in a claim to see for sure. I believe there is a note at the top of the shipping label page that says something about and acceptance scan is not required.

Interesting. Seems like a good opportunity for fraud on more expensive cards.

If buyer opens a case do you refund right away or do you need to let the process play out. The tracking got the initial scan but then stopped updating so they were able to open one up. Just want to make sure I get the insurance right.
