I discovered COMC in 2013 and was blown away at how cheap stuff was. I had just came back into collecting and COMC provided so much of my PC up through 2017 or so. I loved the site. I was a cheerleader of the site, basically.

My Black Friday shipment request (I held all my 2020 purchases in my account for just one shipment) was placed on 11/27/20 with an estimated shipping date of 3/17. I emailed them for any kind of update - no response. Seeing all these replies here makes me think I'll be waiting another 2 months, at least. Makes for a terrible customer experience and I don't think I'll give them money anytime soon. I wish they would take a break from eBay and focus on their shipment backlog.

It's getting more difficult. My last rushed shipment was still several days late. If I'm paying the premium then I expect timely shipment. I still like the site for selling since they do all the work. Would be a pain in the arse to get all that done on my own listing on eBay. There is simply not a good alternative me me right now. Just like it's PSA or Biden's Basement Slab.

I see the last few defenders of this awful company have finally gone away. Anyone have anything good to say about these clowns?

Sales are brisk and, in my opinion, the problems are temporary.

Perhaps the only good is they are probably the leader amongst the new “virtual only” platforms that want you to buy and sell cards but never actually ship them anywhere. (Is ThePit.Com still trying?) I bet a bot could handle the transactions for you after a player has a hot game if you are into that kind of stuff. There is arbitrage to be made right at half-time even, if you could get a couple texts from the locker rom.

Maybe Topps could just create the cards and hold them in a vault somewhere while we buy and sell them. I mean, who has ever actually had a stock certificate, in their possession? So Topps could call it “eTopps” going forward and maybe we should just refer to the vault in Redmond, WA as “eCOMC” and get on with the flipping. Too bad about those watermarks in the scans though. Kinda wrecks it, for me. I would rather see the complete card on my screens. Holding them in your hand is so 20th Century. eCOMC is the present, and the future.

Lol, temporary? These fools have been having issues over a year now. You should be concerned with the fact they are getting worse, not better. Trending in the wrong direction my friend.

What I can't understand is how after years of not receiving card shipments from COMC for 4-6 months after promised delivery dates, how were there still any members left to request shipments in the Fall of 2020. I see so many people (well usually the same 5-10 people) complaining about the wheels falling off COMC and how poorly managed they are, but how could these members have had any cards left at COMC by the start of 2020 to ship if these ridiculous shipping delays were commonplace years before Covid? As an outsider looking in, it almost seems like shipping was not really bad until the start of government mandated Covid shutdowns and protocols were introduced in early-2020. Now, I don't have the same insight as others that have been working within COMC under these government restrictions since the start of 2020, but given how "different" life has been in Southern California since March 2020 (and still is today), I am willing to cut COMC a little slack. Perhaps after the 10th consecutive full capacity Mariners or Seahawks game we can reevaluate the shipping situation at COMC and determine if perhaps the problems are systematic or the product of a 1+ year global pandemic unprecedented in our lifetime.

It's not "years" - the shipping has generally always been one of the things COMC has done well. Until last January when they geared up the eBay auctions, that was the initial trigger for the issues they are having now. The pandemic made it worse in general.

Agreed. I have expanded my collection on COMC through purchases and sales. The COMC marketplace has been very good to me in the last year. At some point in the future I look forward to sending/receiving cards as well.

You should try requesting some now, or maybe hop on a time machine and go back a month and request. Then your time would change.

It's funny, the ones in here praising COMC haven't used the actual service they are failing at in a major way.

Yeah, there's a big difference between buying on there and actually receiving your cards in any reasonable amount of time. For the people who use the site as a way to flip, or just buy and sit on things, it's great. For those who want things in hand, it's a nightmare.

Neither eBay feedback, nor site buyers, are seeing the benefits of them supposedly hiring 50 new heads for shipping.

Have the sales been internal sales or Ebay sales? If internal sales that is just a matter of moving credit around its not really positive cash flow even when they take 5%. Ebay sales are external money but how many refunds are they having to give on Ebay items. Even on failed transactions the feedback rate is less than 50% So for every neg they have you could likely double or even triple the amount of refunds or returns they have had.

Yes it literally is cash flow. That 5% changes from a long-term liability into revenue.

If you’re saying that because you believe they’re using customer balances to fund their expenses, then they’re insolvent.

This is the big thing. There were issues cropping up as soon as they moved to ebay auctions. It wasn't terrible, but definitely starting to trend down. eBay shipments were being prioritized over site shipments despite what they tried to tell you.

And then covid happened. And they never caught up. And they aren't doing anything to try to catch up. I know it's difficult but they have to fulfill their obligations before they keep pumping stuff out on eBay and the other various sales streams. It sucks to lose out of money but they really need to take a pause and try to catch up or they'll be dead in the water soon. What they're doing right now is not sustainable.

How long are the delays you are all experiencing for auction and grading submissions on COMC? I submitted a bunch of auctions and raw card reviews on March 3 with no action or response from support.

Well, it’s official, I’m done with COMC, I’ve spent a mid to high 4 figure amount a year on there for the last 4 or 5 years and now I am done. I really doubt they will get my business again. I just requested my last shipment of cards from them. I have 5 pending shipments with the earliest requested in October. I’m sorry but if you can’t get me my cards in 5 months + I’m done with you.

COMC said they needed 3 months to ship my stuff, which is way too long, but I agreed to that time frame, so I would have been ok with that. So far they are 2 months past that due date, with really no hope of anything happening soon. That is unacceptable for any business, I’m tempted just to ask for my money back on it all, except I do want the cards and need a bunch of them to finish up sets I want to sell. Anyways, I know I’ll be easily replaced as a customer in this climate but for most businesses losing a steady customer that contributes 4-5 figures a year in revenue is not a great way to do things. Anyways, it was great while it lasted COMC, you can keep my 96 cents in my account, please send me the rest of my junk in the mail. Good luck to you.

This above is what's going to happen more and more frequently. Their site will become incestuous in the idea that the active user pool will continue to shrink. New consumers will be scared away when they see their horrible service on eBay. Far too many negatives stating they never shipped at all, ebay had to step in, 5 weeks shipping etc. Good luck keeping that up

Man, I thought my 30 day past due shipping was bad. But I did pay $500 for shipping fees for 'express' service.

If I was one of you with pending shipments from last year I would be absolutely livid.

So you're not a believer that they hired 50 people to fix the problem?

I don't take it easy on them, either.

At the same time, I also had zero issues ever with them up until the end of Feb 2021, like most people.

What perplexes me is how is comc getting all these positive reviews with comments like “fast shipping” still on eBay? I mean their feedback is taking a huge hit, and there are > 900 negs in the past 1 month alone + more neutrals, but when you scroll down the feedback it’s still positive after positive, several saying fast shipping no less. Unless this was before everything hit the fan maybe....but there is no way comc is shipping anything on eBay out fast I imagine. So I’m having a hard time understanding those comments. I have multiple eBay auction wins from > a week ago, and nothing shipped. Just assumed this was the case for everyone buying from them.

I suspect there will be a huge influx of negatives soon, from people who bought during this current situation, and just haven’t left feedback yet because it’s still ongoing and they are waiting for their item (if it ever arrives).
