Finally received my cards, 3 weeks late, NOT the two that was all over the place in their announcements, offered COMC credit or refund to my Paypal for the shipping!

Glad to see your items finally arrived. Hoping I can post a success story sometime soon.

Even if you had a very efficient storage system and everything was catalogued perfectly, the time it would take to pick out the 20 cards in 20 different boxes would likely be 10-15 minutes. At 25 cents per card, the "handling" charge of $5 for 20 cards works out to $20/hour just to pull those 20 cards. Then, add in the cost to double check that they are the right cards, pack them in a manner that ensures they will not be damaged, and then seal them up, and it can't be much better than break even for COMC. It is not like the 20 cards you request to be shipped all magically appear in a stack ready to check and ship. Not defending the long shipping times, but the idea that folks are paying $40+ for a $4 package misses the mark a little.
I agree with this. The big sellers on Sportlots can attest to the amount of time it takes to pull orders. Paying the people to pull those orders, especially larger ones, must be a drain on them financially. They may have figured out that the 25 cent upcharge to pull a card to ship may not be enough. The upcharge covers minimum wage labor to pull a 60 card order in one hour. In a warehouse(s) the size of theirs, that is simply not realistic. I am still waiting on a 750+ card order from early November. Just for one person to pull an order that size may take 2 days. That is assuming the person gets it all right. I believe this is the reason that small orders seem to be getting to the buyers ahead of larger orders like mine. This is for expedited, rushed or snail.

This whole thing, as has been pointed out many times, appears to be them outgrowing themselves. As we all know, the last year has seen unprecedented growth in the hobby on top of the pandemic. They were starting to have problems late in 2019 and the growth/pandemic magnified the problems several-fold. There is no easy solution for them. Temporarily stopping auctions is only a band aid that will have minimal effect (I think they should do it as any help is still help). How long does the contract last with Upper Deck/e-pack? While a great idea for UD, in retrospect it was a bad move for COMC to pick up without spinning it into a completely separate entity. It is possible that creating a completely separate wing of their operation for e-pack may help matters.

My .02 (and don't ask for change).

My order from October was only 24 cards. And still has not been shipped.

And my request for a refund has still not been answered.

Good to hear. This gives me some hope that within 3 weeks late maybe I can expect my shipment.

As for the eBay auction wins.....who knows. I’d love to hear if others have won any comc auctions on eBay during the past few weeks and whether they shipped them out

They have been shipping cards for a decade now, though I could see the ever expanding inventory also leading to ever expanding shipping time per order. The real problem is they continue taking new business when they haven’t completed their old business.

I'm doing an experiment for myself.

Economy 170 Cards
Requested 11/26
Estimated Ship Date 3/2 (Not shipped yet)

Economy Rushed 27 Cards
Requested 3/7
Estimated Ship Date 4/5

Economy Rushed 3 Cards
Requested 3/21
Estimated Ship Date 4/15

At this point I'm expecting my 3 card order to get here before the one I requested in November.

Can anyone point me in a better direction for buying a lot with the top base rookies from a set? For example when Topps Chrome comes out if I want Addel, Bohm, Mountcastle, etc shipped together.

Not large items either - thousands of smaller type transactions. COMC made a lot of money off me alone in fees this year. I know I am only one customer but they are not going to get any more of my money.
That's a crazy amount of purchases but they should make the same amount from you whether it's one big card or 10,000 $3 cards.

I've bought many things from imwonderboy and sold many things to them as well. They are 100% the type of customer that COMC should fight to retain. I'm personally very sad to see them go.

True but think of all the other users that have been engaged in the buying/selling process with me over the past few months. Happy customers come back, alienated ones do not.

24,399 cards I have purchased.

$183,744 in sales.

It's not as much as many, but they still have lost my business for good.

No shipments today either

Finally got confirmation from Attorney Generals office that they are looking into this. I did get my cards finally, 3 weeks late, but still glad that COMC is gonna get a few more people emailing them about these issues.

Honestly, I doubt it goes anywhere. All that needs to be said is - we are short-staffed and fell behind because of Covid restrictions.

LOL...don't give them any ideas - you know they still lurk.

Chris Thornton will man the ship. He is good for a snarky reply and undying love and support for COMC. Talk about a lapdog if ever there was one.

I see the last few defenders of this awful company have finally gone away. Anyone have anything good to say about these clowns?

Their eBay rating is now down to 99.3%. It has gone down even further in the past couple weeks. Doesn’t make sense since they hired all those people weeks ago, they shouldn’t still be getting a bunch of negatives. I want to request a shipment but I really want them to figure their s*** out first. But I’m thinking they’ll never get it together. And I’m worried about how they’ll package a couple $300+ cards so I’d like the new people to figure all that out too. It’s such a double edged sword. Do I keep waiting and have more people request shipments and I wait even longer or do I at least get in the queue? Ugh. I really thought they would have figured it out by now.

I also don’t think they can totally blame COVID (obviously). Burbank sport cards is in CA that has had pretty strict lockdown measures too and they have managed just fine to keep their eBay rating at 99.8%. In the past 12 months they have over 265,000 positive feedback. COMC has over 455,000 in that time but also over 10x as many negatives. So not quite 2x the amount of positives but over 10x as many negatives. That reeks of incompetence as a whole company.

The only absolute positive is that sales are still super strong on site. Payments are only taking 3 business days right now...that's good.

Someone sure is going easy on them now that they got their terribly late shipment

Nah...those were the only two positive things I could think of. The clearance sale I’ve started should be a clear sign of what I really think.
