Etsy is such a menace. The novice collectors are ripe to get burned by this garbage. I’ve seen seasoned collectors get burnt too. I really don’t know what this seller is thinking. It has to go through authentication before he sniffs a dime. The guy probably thinks it’s real. Probably got it on Craigslist list for 1000 and thought he scored.

The seller of said card included a comp from a few hours ago, and the seller is asking for slightly under that which is reasonable and expected. Comps are the best way to figure out price, otherwise you might as well throw some darts around.

Just so yinz know, there's a lot of ohtanis out in the open. I'm not a major contributer to the forums but have a ton of him from update/chrome. My point is, there's lots of open shoei stuff in collections that aren't "accounted for". I think pink chromes and update parallels are the way to go. I got 2 golds, a rainbow and a million base in 9 cases. Zero autos but am happy because...(Soto, acuna...did well)..

Story time. I ripped a ton of 2018 Stadium Club. At one point I think Blowout had retail boxes (not blasters) for $34.95 and I took advantage as much as I could at the time.

One of those boxes had an RC Superfractor Auto. I slowed rolled it thinking I may have caught the Ohtani, and after seeing the RC symbol behind a flat background I thought I snagged it. Took me 20 minutes to reveal the card to myself. Unfortunately, it wasn't the Ohtani (I still own and like the Mejia - Big TB Rays fan).

Anyway - every time I see the Ohtani super posted it takes me back to sweaty palms, a racing heart and the moment I thought I pulled the golden ticket.

Can't wait for prices to normalize so I can go back to casual collecting. Been only buying cards where it meets the "I'll never see this one again" criteria. Long term collectors ftw!

Me personally? I'd go for the Topps S2 Gold but I'd buy a PSA 9 instead of a 10
