As soft as most of the NBA is, he probably deserves some votes for the NBA MVP as well.

Ohtani was IBB'ed 4 times pre-AS break (91 games).
He's been IBB'ed 9 times since the break (15 games). He's not even gonna get a fair chance to break Judge's record because all teams are gonna give him nothing to hit unless it's a blowout.

I'm reading a book about the 1920 season, and it talks a lot about how much Ruth was pitched around, something neither he nor the fans were very happy about. Anyway this proposal was put forth to deal with intentional walks, which I thought was interesting. Obviously with the emphasis on pitch counts these days it would be a much bigger deal than it would've been 100 years ago, but I had never heard of this idea before.

Bonds was IBB 120 times in 2004, with a total of 232 BB. He still hit 45 HRs (with some help). You have to take advantage when they pitch to you.

On the broadcast they mentioned an idea to make it so each batter can only be IBB'd once a game, fun idea

How do you enforce that? How do you differentiate between an IBB and a pitcher who just missed the zone four times in a row? I'm all for trying to figure out a solution here - we all hate excessive IBBs - it's just tricky.

Ive never been a fan of the IBB. Throw the dang baseball. Miss the zone all you want. But make the pitchers throw the ball.

This will never happen but a walk progression would be cool. If you're walked once in the game you go to first, second walk you go straight to second and so on.

Agreed, and it can lead to fun moments such as this one.

I bet you like the ghost runner on second base in extra innings too.

You are the wettest of blankets. I 100% would vote against both rules, but a walk progression would deter IBBs - the only goal.

I'm heavily debating if I want to unload my Chrome Update rookie stash or not.

I might get in with my buddy and grade them all, we all know with that set it's fairly "easy" to get a 10.

Upload the stash and upgrade to a SP or low number parallel.

I'm in the same boat with both Chrome and Update... debating it hard because I'm not a fan of grading.

As fun as it would be to see him play, he did just pitch a 9 inning shutout, so the man probably deserves a bit more rest.

GTFOH with that. We all have cards to send in to PSA for grading and cards to sell. He can rest all he wants after the season
