As long as you’re ready to battle the others that live within five minutes for stuff to resale. I guess it depends on what you saw in the sale. If it was vinyl, video games, cards, Harley stuff, you know obvious things, I would think their would be plenty of people waiting to pounce.

I picked up a bunch of older vintage ball caps at a garage sale a couple weeks ago. 15 or 16 hats for $5. Never got around to listing them. Started going through them today in preparation for listing. I was absolutely floored when I saw what these two hats sell for.

Huge pickups. I wish I wasn't priced out of these as a raiders fan.

I have been to sales in this area before and there is usually little competition. Went to one on second day and was able to snag stuff that should have gone the first day for half price. Like a gamecube with 20 games including paper mario for 25.00. the paper mario was clear in the photos.

Oh man. Forget about it where I am. You mention any of the above AND show them in the pictures, guarantee their will be a couple of people their looking for those things. I’m jealous of anyone who lives in an area where people really aren’t flipping.

We have a good base that is getting larger and more competitive. However we have areas that are very remote so many will not venture out. This sale is in a remote area 40 miles from dallas and there are at least 30 estate sales opening tomorrow in dallas so gambling that much of the dallas competition will not venture out that far.

Yeah that’s good. I’ve been doing this for three years and definitely seems like their has been more people doing it in the past 1 1/2 years, which is probably common around the Country. When I go to savers on Friday mornings there’s a handful of the same flippers EVERY. TIME. Just gotta be smarter on items than them.

100% this. I've arrived at the same time as some local flippers as well and sometimes they'll snag a few items ahead of me, but there always seem to be a few items they aren't that knowledgeable about that I'll be able to scoop up.

I went to a garage sale last weekend and this one guy seemed to always be a sale ahead of me and I'd arrive a little too late. One sale, he hopped out of his car, rushed over to the NFL jerseys, checked the price tags and then ran back to his car and hopped in again once he saw the prices were too high. I ended up sitting there and talking to the owner for a little bit who ran the garage sale and talked him down to $5 a jersey if I bought multiple and he sold them to me. There's something to be said for taking your time and having a conversation.

That is how this sale worked out. Got there a little over an hour early. The man whose estate it was told them to let me in. He started showing me his private collection of models he has built. He builds and paints those lifesize dinosaur models you see in many natural history museum s. He also does military models. I ended up getting a few pieces that I will keep. One was featured in a military model magazine a few years back.

He has a full size velicoraptor raptor he has started but wants to sell it before he finishes it. We already have an agreement on it if he don't sell it this weekend.

Well made some good scores today, I thought my biggest flip was going to be a brand new TFal Actifry NIB for $15 (can get $215 shipped probably from that) but this might be the winner. I paid $3 and listed it an hour and a half ago. My sister had all sorts of Lisa Frank when we were kids

Auction is up to 132.50 with 17 watchers. Other stuff I got yesterday besides that and the airfryer thingy was a Big Mouth Billy Bass for $3 (nostalgia), a pair of Sony headphones, the older ones NIP for $3 (sell regularly for $45), a Pioneer DVD Car Dash Screen (pretty fancy. Paid $25. Maybe get $100-$150 for it. Missed the video games at that sale ), a Casio VL-1 (doesn't work, very clean though and seeing if dad can fix it. If not $35 in parts. Paid 50 cents), a 1987 Tiger Pinball Handheld game (pretty clean. not worth much but paid like 50 cents), a Pair of Rocky Boots Sv2 NIB for $20, Voltron Red Lion and Yellow Lion Plastic Toys ($1 for both), and a brand new green eggs and ham VHS for like a buck (never know with Dr Seuss). Pretty decent day. Next week is a big city wide sale and weather is going to be a beautiful 75 degrees!

There is a monthly auction close to me and I typically go every month. It's in a pretty rural area full of old farmer types. My 42 years lowers the average age in the room by quite a bit. Anyway, last month there was a big CD album that I missed in the preview so when it came up for bid I had no idea what was in it. The auctioneer asks the runner what kind of music it was and the runner says "Mostly rap", to which the auctioneer replies "I think you forgot the C at the beginning of that word".

Needless to say I got the album for next to nothing. Ended up being close to 200 hardcore/gangsta rap CDs from the early to mid 90s. There was some Pac, Biggie, Snoop stuff but more importantly to me there were a lot of more obscure stuff like lesser known rappers from No Limit and a few independent types. I've made about $400 so far, and have about half the discs left to sell.

First sale I went to this morning was a game resellers dream. 5.00 each bought 6 Pokemon DS games complete with all the manuals. Including Black and white version 2 as well as explorers of the sky. Aslo got another black version 2 just the cartridge for 5.00 as well.

See if those games were at a yard sale here where I am, Souther Maine/Seacoast NH they’d be $20ish each and online prices would be referenced. I don’t know what it is, seems like my area people are aware of online prices/demand, but never want to do it themselves online. I honestly prefer thrift stores because of that reason.

Well hell I guess I don’t know enough about games. I know Pokémon is a good buy, guess I figured those games would be $40-50.

I still prefer thrift stores, I only get one day to really thrift. Kids, sports, work, etc......I only really get one day, and thrift stores seem to be the better score as opposed to going to garage sales were most of the stuff people are selling aren’t eBay flipping worthy items.

Went out for a few hours this AM...not much success....lots of sales that were full of kids clothes, but not their toys or video games ...did grab this for $5...it is super clean, not sure if I'll make the quick $100 or so flip or if I'll upgrade from my little Brother scanner/printer

So I ran each of these hats as a 7 day auction. Both ended yesterday. The logo hat sold for $1,025 and the script hat for $5,100. Sounds great except I’ll never get paid.

The highest 3-4 bidders on each were from accounts with little or zero feedback. I saw a hat on completed listings that has sold multiple times lately, twice for over $1,000. I reached out to the seller and he said he’s sold his hat three successive tiMrs without receiving payment.

Can anyone explain these people / accounts to me? I do t understand the reasoning for bidding something up to a ridiculous price and then not paying. Any help?

Just do a BIN on these. People like to play games and be stupid just for fun with these hats for some reason. Make sure you require immediate payment.

Default Thrift Shop Pickups

Finally able to process everything. Mind you I garage sales with my mom in her Fiat 500c. Not a very good car to garage sale in. I hate the thing. Here are some highlights-Rock Band Xbox 360 set w/ 3 guitars wireless drums stage kit microphone paid $40 (guitars can average about 50-70 each. Stage kit sells for $70. Not sure what I’m doing with drums), Found a Wii at a donation sale with its hookups (donated $20), Wii Sports-$1, New Super Mario Bros-50 cents, a few games for $1 or $2 that will do about $15 each, a digital camera 14.1 megapixel for $5 with charger (who has one anymore haha! Will get $30), Sony Walkman with built in radio and box and instructions $2 (will get about $35-$40), 2 Christmas Inflatables ($5 and $10. Will get about $215 for both), a Sony Walkman MP3 player for $3 (maybe $30-$35), complete series of 24 on DVD for $16 (sold a set earlier for $70), some Athleta and Lululemon (hate clothes but they are easy sells for those brands), and 2 Zoomer toys for $2 each (one is Paw Patrol)
