Both end of year deals. Bush and Quero weren't nobodies, but not cornerstones. Adding another hard thrower like Reynaldo helps to not send out guys like Herget or even Webb in the 8th. Giolito is a wildcard at this point but it's an obvious upgrade to the backend at the least. Gotta believe this changes a few things. Now for infield depth.

If you lose Ohtani youre going to suck for the next 5 years anyway. Might as well go down swinging....... or make a run for the ring

Don't accuse the sketchcard guy - who definitely WASN'T wishing injury on Ohtani a few pages back, by the way, he was just asking questions!!! - of having it in for Ohtani despite his almost constant negative talk in this thread. He's Sho's biggest fan, he swears!

Lol. The hate? Sure why not. I don’t lose sleep over anything here. This is a hobby so not sure why so many get butt hurt over opinions. But that’s where we are I guess. I wanted Ohtani to get traded, to get out of a dead franchise. I hate seeing players who have his ability (Soto as well) lament in a terrible franchise. I’m not his biggest fan but I acknowledge he’s the best in the game currently. He’s for sure serving of the AL MVP. I also enjoy talking about various perspectives on sports but clearly if said opinion is against the grain, the claws come out. It’s cool though. I don’t take anything here personal, but seems there are many here that do. Hope you all have a good night.

Your "takes" on this thread are always negative, and it's that consistency which is so interesting. Your initial off the cuff posts are of the bashing type and then you backtrack when we start wondering about your motives. I'm all for good hearted disagreements and differing opinions about baseball and baseball players, but that's not what you've brought to the table here in my opinion.

Posting something like "Man, I don't trust the Angels to get it done to get Ohtani to the postseason and that's bad for baseball and makes me sad" is something I think we can all understand and a lot of us can at least partially agree with. But coming in hot with "see you in the offseason" doesn't create any value, and when I seen those words I'm imagining a big smile on your face, like "hahaha haha I love to hate <Insert whatever here>. That's my impression of your posts.

His walkbacks are always of the "gee, why is everyone so thin-skinned in this thread" variety which fails to at least consider the possibility that maybe his posts - and not the BO commentariat - are the problem. It's fascinating to watch because I don't think he's an actual troll. If this were an Astros thread, I think he would make cogent, well-intentioned arguments. But the Ohtani thread gets the posting equivalent of "Boy, I REALLY hope nothing bad should happen to befall this guy, lest his career wind up like Billy Conigliaro *wink wink* but I wish him well."

I know this isn't card related....

Anyone sent a signed jersey to PSA be able to help with a question?

1. Would a jersey signed in spring training in Feb of 2018 count as a rookiegraph under their system, it's technically before his rookie season?

2. How much does an average Shohei rookiegraph jersey fetch?

From PSA's site:

Any autographed item by a rookie athlete must be received by PSA prior to his or her team's Opening Day/Night during the athlete's second full season.

My interpretation of that is that a signed jersey would need to have been sent to PSA by the day before Opening Day 2019 in order to qualify as a "rookiegraph".

The one I’m looking at is officially logged in the MLB database with a signing date in Feb 2018, I might email them to see if you can still get a PSA rookiegraph.

On the bump in the Big D today! Hopefully putting all the trade chatter to bed gives the team a little mental clarity and focus.

I think he will hit a homerun in one of those games today.

Kerry Carpenter might get mobbed after that move (although Ohtani was kinda in the way lol)

Yeah it looked like Sho stuck his arm out, maybe he didn't think Carpenter would be moving that fast. Hopefully it's nothing.

Dealing. I love the fastball centric repertoire. They aren't sitting on breaking anymore

Traveling all day and of course this game is blacked out for whatever reason. So forced to watch the pitch-by-pitch “live” view. So far, so good!
