The problem with that question is that given the SEC's new single-division format, it is going to be extremely difficult for a 2-loss team to make the CCG.

But IF it does happen....

If we fall back on history (which I gladly admit is tough to do since we have to look at the PC's history of the old format, not the new format) the PC has not punished CCG losers terribly for that extra loss. IMHO being the conference runner up would carry more weight despite the 3rd loss.

Texas has to win out to make the playoffs. They'll fall out of the top 10 after this loss. If they lose another, they'll be near 15-20. That's too far down, especially if they don't make the SEC.

Pissed the bed tonight. Made Georgia look a lot better than they really are. Remember they gave up 41 to Alabama. Tonight Texas mustered 15 points. Not good. Nothing UGA did. Texas just wet the bed tonight.

Did you see Texas' offense? Looked terrible all night. Offensive line didn't block. Had 3 TOs. Travis Etienne ran wild. Yea, Texas looked terrible offense and defense. They're out of the top 10 after this one.

Why would Texas #1, losing to Georgia #5...make Texas fall out of the top 10..

No, Texas will probably drop to 6. 2 losses and it depends a lot on how other teams jumble around. They might be just out of range if there are too many 1 loss teams. You could have a scenario where they are the highest 2 loss team and get the last spot. Lots of football left.

Doubtful. There will be 2-loss teams in the playoffs - several of them - and Texas will be at or near the top of that group.

Alabama or Georgia would drop to 6. But Texas isn't one of them. They will fall further. They don't have UGA or Bama money. Plus, they're the new kid on the block in the SEC. They just weren't ready for this matchup. Not ready for the best of the SEC at this point, and they showed that tonight.
