Like I said, the action shot of the card is cool. You don't see that on many soccer cards, especially women.

But I hardly take you serious, like most of the posters on here don't.

If anyone is buying, Card Giants is cheaper than Parkside.

https://cardgiants.com/product/2023-...5-ct-card-set/

On another note, Parkside shipped the Mia Fishel Autos surprisingly quick. Mine will be here tomorrow

Lol at the folks bringing their Catholic shame into this thread. Let people enjoy things without assuming motives.

Went to the SheBelieves Cup on Sunday in Nashville (awesome stadium btw). The lines at every merch stand were INSANE the entire time so I didn't grab the Parkside set. I guess that's a good sign, but I was hoping to not pay shipping for a set. They had several boxes of them at each stand that I saw.

Had an itch to rip and got a box of Paramount in today. Pretty average box overall, but maybe others here can help call out any of the less obvious. Not really familiar with Ava Cook, but seems like she shows promise based off of what I've quickly read about her.

You hit a lot of good names in your base cards, considering it's a 150 card set. And there are a lot of Ali Krieger fans out there, so that blue /25 is not too shabby either.

Fan of the USWNT, so holding onto those, but will keep you in mind if I ever end up moving some stuff.

Thanks, good to know. I'm familiar with the bigger names (in particular the USWNT), but not as on top of the NWSL to pick up on the others.

What on earth is going on with France? I must admit I haven't been keeping up with their club. First Renard. Now Diani and Katoto leave? Do they want the coach to resign?

Wow. Why on earth would the federation support the coach over some of the best players in Europe?

We keep hearing that the world is catching up to the USWNT, but then we see would-be rival countries kneecap themselves by stubbornly supporting terrible, toxic coaches (France, Spain) or by failing to financially support their team (Canada). This makes the U.S. team relatively stronger by default, which is not the way you like to see it. It's a shame that the so-called leaders of the Soccer Federations in these nations are squandering the international careers of so many great players by allowing their programs to twist in the wind, playing these sad games.

[QUOTE=DonrussDean;18726828]Anyone hear about NWSL 2023 release date??

Parkside has released preview images of 2023's NWSL Collection on IG, but no dates.

Should be getting Pronto news soon too. I'm hoping to subscribe to Pronto this year. Evidently last year's subscribers got "special cards" - not to mention the savings in postage (I bought 2 of each pack as they dropped last year).

The USWNT is stronger for many reasons one being how they hoodwinked the entire country with the help of the media to shame US Soccer to push a ridiculous narrative that women deserve to be paid as much as the US men and the winners of the World Cup.

I am 100% certain that is exactly the narrative our media will push during the World Cup this summer especially if the USWNT wins it.

In the words of Bill Burr regarding women's sports "You don't sell any !@#!$ tickets!!!!"

If other countries sold more tickets and actually brought in fans they'd probably get a lot better support.

The US has a real atrocious record with their federation down to the NWSL leadership; it just hasn't affected the women's team recently. Vlatko has some major problems to deal with though on the field. His midfield is atrocious going into the WWC.

A friend of mine mentioned that these other federations don't care about winning and I believe that is true when it comes to the women's game. I don't think France or Canada were realistic to win this WWC personally; Spain, on the other hand, is doing themselves a real disservice by sticking with such a clueless manager. His lineups are trash and he makes the wrong subs at the wrong times.

England is clearly going in as the main competition to the US as it stands now. Germany and Australia are dark horses depending on health. If Spain can figure it out, they would be a top team. Doesn't look like they will though.

Lol @ quoting Bill Burr of all people. That guy is pure cringe in the stuff he says about women.

I guess I don't understand what you're referring to in the first sentence. Seems like mistakes have been made for sure, and some bad actors have been rooted out, but there are bad apples in almost any organization. Seems like the USWNT has been pretty well supported in what they do. The success they've had speaks for itself. Too well supported if you ask Bill Burr and some other folks, lol.

Sad to say, I can't make any reasonable argument against the idea that some (maybe most?) of these federations don't care about whether their women's teams win. Hard to come to a different conclusion given what we're seeing. It's pretty baffling to me, given the success of the Euros last summer.

Curious why you think Canada (if they are supported) doesn't have a shot to win. This team was good enough to win gold at the Olympics. They sure seem to have a lot of talent, and they've made it to the top of the mountain before, with this same group of players. Not arguing the point. Just curious why you think differently.

I was referring to the USSF's rolling mess with Berhalter, Reyna, Stewart, McBride and the rest. That along with the allegations related to Shim/Farrelly having also being ignored by the USSF along with the NWSL. USSF is a hot mess currently outside of the USWNT. haha

I just don't think Canada is that good. Yes, they won the Olympics, but they played about as boring a style as you could ever want to do that. Sinclair's best days are mostly behind her and they don't have anyone they can rely upon to score. They won the gold, but for me, they weren't convincing. Also worth mentioning that the Olympics were made up of a handful of teams (8 total as it has an atrocious selection system) as well as England plays as Great Britain too. And then Canada really can't beat the US consistently at all. I could be wrong, but I think Canada hit their once in a lifetime shot and won the gold, but I don't think they are serious threat for the WWC. I could be wrong, but I've watched them fail for years and years unfortunately. They don't do anything at an elite level over other teams. And so for me, they aren't real contenders.

Has anyone heard about NWSL cards yet?

Someone posted on Facebook that Parkside is deciding not do Boxes this season since sales were down last year and concentrate more on team sets like they did with SD and LA last season.

Not sure how true that is, but hope they just got back to the blasters and skip the hobby boxes if they do go that route.

I liked the hobby boxes. I didn't like waiting 10-14 days to receive them.

A Teaser Alert with Preview images was posted 2 weeks ago on Parkside's Instagram account that said,

"The awaited 2023 NWSL Collection teaser! We have some awesome new designs as well as the classics you know and love. Coming very soon...."

I've also seen mention that Pronto will be returning for another year.
