I got a couple day ban a while ago for suggesting this was bubbling under and players would leave for Europe.

"politics" apparently

Probably given a vacation for making such a clueless suggestion.

There's no reason to believe the Euro women's leagues are free of this stuff. The Lionesses certainly expressed a great deal of familiarity with the subject when they played the U.S. the other day. And it's not like exploitation of power for sexual purposes is a uniquely American thing. Prince Andrew would like a word.

They're just not talking about it there yet, which means the NWSL is ahead in getting this rooted out. Why would players want to leave the place where this stuff is finally being taken seriously to go where it's still being suppressed?

It's ugly now, at the moment, while things are being exposed and dealt with. But the league is dealing with it.

The players need to have a place to play. If fans boycott the league over this, they're turning their backs on the players. I don't see that happening.

Well the NWSL fired suspended Orlando coach Amanda Cromwell and gave her a lifetime ban.

Still shocked how she even has a license after the having a relationship with a player ay UCF, and then the recruiting scam at UCLA.

More negativity for the NWSL.. There are probably a ton more stories like this, but Christy Holly should have his license banned, and should be under a criminal investigation for what he did with Erin Simon, but anyways, I still feel the future of this league as being a high profile respectable women's league is going to be hard to overcome all of this.

It will survive.

They will throw money at it, make some very public and loud punishments and probably do some rebranding. Spanish and Italian football have come back from rampant criminality, racism, mafia involvement, match fixing and corruption numerous times, English football has survived racism, hooliganism, noncing and paedos...

Honestly, if you read the series of tweets, this one is a nothing burger.

Holly was a bad guy and deserved to be fired for the sexual abuse perpetrated against Erin Simon. No doubt about that. Criminal charges against him are probably warranted as well.

But that type of stuff isn't what is being alleged here. If we accept this lady's allegations as fact, then this is simply a person in power trying to get an employee that he doesn't like fired.

That's bad boss stuff, which is more reason that it's good Holly is gone. But being a bad boss is not something that creates legal liability. It's not harrassment. Sorry lady.

And by the way, your daughter is a grown woman. A college graduate. Why are you on Twitter trying to fight battles against her former employer?

There's a reason why this lady went to law firms with these complaints and got nowhere. If being called into an uncomfortable meeting at work where your job performance is criticised--even unfairly--were grounds for a lawsuit, then probably over half the bosses in the world would be in and out of court. Bad bosses suck, but they're everywhere. Grow up ma'am.

^^To be clear, I'm not criticising you here, Dean. I'm addressing this criticism hypothetically to that lady on Twitter. It's like, ma'am, I'm sorry to hear that your adult daughter had a bad time working what should have been a dream job. Maybe she was treated badly. Maybe she was a crappy employee. We don't know for sure. All we see is a deluded mommy fighting battles for her too-old-for-this daughter on Twitter.

You aren't wrong.

Although definitely not your point, but the USSF has cultivated a toxic political culture for the past decade.

The selection of Sally Yates and the opening few paragraphs of the report were unprofessional. Why select someone as controversial as that? No other law firms were available? Smells of a political setup similar to the "Equal Pay" lawsuit fiasco.

Well, amidst all of the controversy, the KC Current is quietly having an amazing season. Whatever happens tomorrow, it's been a fun ride!

One of my favorite players is Kristen Edmonds, but she doesn't have any Parkside autos. Just got these back from PSA:

Yeah, Kansas City has had a great season so far. Seems like a good ownership group that knows what professional facilities and a pro athlete experience should look and feel like. Glad to see them doing well.

It's going to be fun to watch the new stadium going up. Looking forward to seeing a game there in 2024.

Great final coming up!

Lots of great players to cheer for on Portland, so I wouldn't be upset to see them win.

But if anyone is a fan of scrappy underdog stories, they have to love this KC team that doesn't feature a bunch of stars from top national teams (the snacks girls would fit that bill, but they're both long term injured), but rather has a group of next tier players playing as a team and getting it done.

Pretty f'ing excited. Contemplated traveling to DC for the match, but I'll be going to a watch party here in KC instead.

Also agree that there are a lot of great players to root for on the Thorns. Mentioned it a couple pages back, but I've been really impressed with Sam Coffey's rookie seaon:

Also, Franch has been awesome for the Current. Should be a banger.

Congratulations to the Portland Thorns for their 3rd NWSL championship, and to Sophia Smith for getting the Championship MVP!

I hope these aren’t expensive. I’ll get a box, but with the season over they gotta be pretty close or less then the hobby price.

That box looks like they are trying to create a high-end product. Considering the amount of struggles they've had producing a clean flagship type product, I'm a little concerned about this.

I couldn't bring myself to buy a hobby box because of the issues, and honestly not even sure if I want to attempt of go for a complete base set.

Can't believe what these are going for now (and how many I sold back at release for like $20)

They posted a little video of them getting Ashley Sanchez's autos back. The cards look fairly thick, like maybe National Treasures thick. And through the blur, the cards looked very clean, like player on just a white background possibly.

I get the feeling that these are going to be more expensive than the hobby boxes.

The moment was too big for the Current, and now the USWNT drops its 3rd straight.

I picked up this Mia auto recently, and one of her quotes has always stuck with me.

"Failure happens all the time...What makes you better is how you react to it."

KC is a talented team with a great outlook for the future, but they ran into a tough out in the Thorns. It will be interesting to see how they incorporate talents like Sam Mewis and Lynn Williams when they are ready to return.

The USWNT is taking on some of the world's toughest competition in these friendlies while working younger players into the squad, so I'm not terribly surprised at these results. That England team is downright scary, and the German team is also one of the best in the world. I hope the adversity now serves to strengthen them for their World Cup run next year.

I've just been looking at a few things, and something struck me about Megan Rapinoe - I know the internet isn't great for accurate stats, but has she really played less than 200 games in her club career?
