I think it is the pitch clock and no shift Lol Maybe pitch around in playoffs or key games down the stretch let ‘em all hit.

Watching Ohtani makes me feel like I'm watching something that I may never see again. I remember watching Bo Jackson excel in two sports, and Jordan do the unthinkable time after time, and almost every night Ohtani shows me something I didn't expect.

I don't care what the cost, the Dodgers need to land him...lol, j/k.

But man, it's hard not to want a player like Ohtani on your team.

I feel completely confident we will never see anything like this again in baseball. You may see a horse ride a unicycle around the bases at Fenway but you will absolutely not see a 2-way player that excels at his job to this extent (or even close) in your lifetime. I'm serious. Enjoy it now. Savor every start and AB. There's a significantly better chance you'll see another Bo Jackson and the % of that happening is maybe 1%.

Not sure if anyone was watching MLB network last night, but they were talking about Ohtani and one of the commentators was saying he is the best player ever. Not best career (aka stats), but best we have ever seen. I thought that was an interesting way to put it. He may never achieve the career stats as some of baseball's greats, but there has never been another player that can do what he does. I think it is a very interesting way to think about Ohtani and where he is at in his career.

As for his cards, I started buying during 2021 during his break out MVP year, so I did not get in at the floor, and I bought many of his cards near the top of that market. But after this year I feel the sky is the limit for his cards. In a few years we may look upon this moment and think wow his cards were cheap back then (meaning today).

It just seems like we are watching a performance that will not be duplicated or match for most peoples lifetime if ever. He is simply amazing! I get the feeling his cards one day will be looked at like other greats of the sports like Jordan, LeBron, Brady, Mantle etc. Or maybe I am just caught up in Ohtani euphoria right now!

You might just be right about his prices. I stopped buying any new Ohtani stuff after the WBC when his stuff shot up and even sold a bunch of my lower end non-core-PC Ohtanis to reap some profits. Wondering now if I'll end up regretting that decision or not.

I really hope he ends up with the Dodgers. I’m a lifelong Dodger fan, but the last couple of years I’ve watched way more Angels games than Dodgers games. I’d be super bummed out if he ends up anywhere but LA. If he goes to the Yankees I’d legitimately cry.

I don't think Hal will pay him. They're not really set up to add a contract that size given their self imposed budget constraints. We also have no idea if he wants to play on the east coast. I would guess its between SD, LAD, and SEA.

For very selfish reasons I hope he ends up on the east coast (though this is unlikely). Angels games sometime start at 9:40PM eastern and I'd just like to get more sleep!

I'd love for him to be on the east coast. I give him credit that his impeding free agency has not been a distraction.

East coast would be best. So many late games is brutal.

Imagine Ohtani doing something like “The Decision”! I hadn’t even thought about how his free agency hasn’t been a distraction at all. It shows what kind of person/player he really is.

For people wanting Ohtani come over to join an East Coast team, he could come join my Nats since literally every star player that we used have were traded away for unproven rookies. Ohtani can certainly help make up for our owner’s incredibly stupid decision making which I’ll never forgive.

I just feel like this is set up too well for the dodgers to not happen. They have Kershaw and Urias as fa as well as JD which opens up the DH spot. They only have 109m committed so far for 2024 vs 189m for yanks and 261m for mets. They have one of if not the deepest farm system. I'm sure cohen, the padres, and maybe even sea will make absurd contract offers, and even though I can't stand the dodgers, its really the best fit.
